CPR Plot Bunny

CPR methods change over time. Back in 2008, there was a big change of thought in that rescue breathing is no longer encouraged in cases of heart failure. Instead, chest compressions only at 100 beats per minute are emphasized.

How does the lay person stay on that beat rate? It happens to coincide with the beat in the song "Stayin' Alive".

You can hear all the details in the last segment of this RadioLab podcast.

I'm just tickled by the idea of Sam and Dean in a Red Cross class and Dean being offended by the BeeGees idea. Oh, and of course the song coming back in the much more serious situation when Dean would have to use the method on Sam.

*laughs* I think for one person cpr it's 30 compressions to 2 breaths now, isn't it?
