Loss (Gen, R)

missing scene from 'Jump the Shark'

When this episode first aired, I felt like a shot or two had been cut from the episode-- mostly because of where Sam's gaze goes right before the camera cuts away. This is what ran through my head. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] samidha for posting the quote that reminded me of this over at [livejournal.com profile] spnquotefic

quote was: "I don't think it's my blood."

"Thank you."

Insta-rec!

Okay, folks, I don't know if you've been following [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen (and if you haven't, why not?), then you will have seen Driver Picks the Music was posted today.

Title: Driver Picks the Music
Rating:: PG
Warnings:: None
Wordcount: ~15,000

It's got all sorts of things going for it:

1- There's an X-Files crossover. You don't need to be familiar with X-Files to understand the story at all, but it's a really nice bonus for those of us who loved TFX.

2- It's a really well-crafted casefic. The author (I can't wait for reveals so I can make sure I'm stalking them properly!) really did their homework on the history of the case, and added in some really interesting twists. It's been a while since I've seen a good old-fashioned casefic like this, and I do so love reading them.

3- Bonus sick!Sam. And he is oh so very nicely sick in this.

In short, this story is totally relevant to our interests. Go read it!
