Summer Comment-fic meme!

It's been forever since we had a straight-up comment-fic meme, am I right? So let's get this show on the road!

SPREAD THE WORD

THE RULES

→ Leave a comment here with your prompt. This is a Sam-focused hurt/comfort community, so Sam should be the one in the hurt/comforted role. Your prompts may involve sick!Sam, hurt!Sam, angsty!Sam, basically anything that results in Sam being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort. (No rules against whumping other characters as well, of course, but you have to whump Sam first. ;) )
→ In your prompt, please state your desired characters or pairings. All genres/pairings welcome, but no real-person (RPF) prompts.

Example A: “Sam, Dean, gen, set in season 2. Sam has a vision and passes out. Cue caring!Dean and limp!Sam.”
Example B: “Sam/Dean, trauma. Sam is injured on a hunt, Dean freaks out when he thinks Sam might be dead.”

→ Post as many prompts as you like - but one prompt per comment. If you've got a couple, comment with each separately.
→ Prompts can be as short or detailed as you like. Remember though - more detail means less wriggle room for the writer, which might lower the chances of someone picking up your prompt.
→ Go through the prompts! If you find one you like, write a fic for it. There's no limit to how many users can reply to a prompt, or how many prompts someone can write for.
When replying to a prompt with your comment-fic, put ‘filled’ in your subject line and then anything else you want, like a title if you have one/part numbers. It’s not a big deal if you forget this step, but it will make it easier for people to find your fic. As subject lines are no more, please begin your fills with the word FILLED and a TITLE in BOLD - the first box on this page shows you how to position the bold tag for proper results.
→ If you notice that your fic is not on the master list after a decent amount of time (say, two days), please poke me in a PM. I might have missed it.
→ Anon posting enabled.
→ NO SPOILERS FOR UNAIRED EPISODES.
→ Play nice - no flaming and no character bashing, period. Any comments that break this rule will be deleted without warning.
→ Feedback is catnip for writers. Leave some author-love!
→ No spam comments.
→ Contact one of the mods if you have a question.
→ Spread the Sam love - pimp this meme!
→ Have fun!

Master List of Fills

Mod Note: I have severely restricted access to the Internet these days, due mostly to time constraints. Bear with me if your fills don't appear right away, okay? :)

Priorities; by [livejournal.com profile] center_galaxy; Outsider POV: pizza guy/girl. Goes to deliver a pie (veggie lover's delight?) to a remote motel. The big guy that answers the door is in no way healthy (either he's woefully sick or beaten all to hell.) Or maybe the door is ajar and the delivery person can see someone passed out on the floor.

Winchester Luck; by [livejournal.com profile] chaos_slave; Sam falls/gets thrown off a cliff.

Bath Time Blues; by [livejournal.com profile] cherry916; Sam Dean John gen Pre-series. Sam has a back injury or some sort of back problem, he's not paralysed, but he can't lift anything. Dean and John are fussing over him and watching him like a hawk to make sure he follows the doctor's orders.

The Itch You Can't Scratch; by [livejournal.com profile] cherry916; Sam gets a nasty rash from the hellhound blood all over him.

Side Effects; by [livejournal.com profile] center_galaxy; "Everybody Hates Hitler" AU. What if the Nazi Necromancer poison didn't go away nearly as quickly as it did in the actual ep? Or had some nasty aftereffects?

The Very Thought of You; by [livejournal.com profile] center_galaxy; Jess has worked the late night shift at a diner for months now. But when the tall guy with the dimples that calls in every night for a coffee suddenly stops coming, she gets worried because no one seems to notice he's missing but her. Then a few nights later he stumbles into the diner, all beat up and bloody.

Occupational Hazard; by [livejournal.com profile] omh_6; It's the summer of Sam's 13th year. Dean is already Dad's right-hand man and Too Cool for School, and Sam has been scrambling to keep up, then KAPOW. Growth spurt. Almost overnight, Sam finds himself eye-to-eye with his 'big' brother and you'd think that'd make him happy, right? But no, this is Sam Winchester we're talking, here. Cue the growing pains, eternal hunger, long ungainly limbs, screwed up center of gravity.

Angry Spirits Don't Care About Mud; by [livejournal.com profile] calypsobard;"Maybe Sam should've listened to his brother before he decided to play the hero and run back into that house."

The Worst Thing; by [livejournal.com profile] scribble2much; The memories of the cage are so strong that Sam begins to show psychosomatic symptoms to some of Lucifer's tortures.

On the Side of the Road; by [livejournal.com profile] jasmineisland; Back in season 5, after Dean and Sam split up; Sam hitchhikes, thing is, the angels are out to tear him apart, now that they’ve got them split up; they recruit a demon or something to that effect, to do their dirty work. The demon ends up raping him on the side of the road., while or right before Dean ends up calling him to reconcile.

Anything For You; by [livejournal.com profile] center_galaxy; Remember Sam's broken wrist way back when? He had a cast, it healed, all was well. Until somewhere in his late 30s the pain he's been ignoring for a while becomes a constant thing. They discover that Sam's been walking around with an improperly healed carpal bone and as a result has some nasty degenerative arthritis, and Dean decides this is a good time to hang it up and retire. But, just because they're done with the supernatural, doesn't mean that it's done with them and when Dean goes missing - Sam and his swollen, knobby "it's not entirely useless, dammit" hand have to find him. It's frustrating, it's dangerous, it hurts - but it's his brother, you know?

What I Would Give for You by [livejournal.com profile] center_galaxy Sam gets tuberculosis.

And a Pillar of Fire by Night by [livejournal.com profile] ladyarcherfan3 (gen please) At the end of 8.23, Sam tries to "let go" of the trials. The glow leaves his arms and he shows Dean with a smile before crying out in pain and collapsing. What if Sam''s collapse was caused by the Angels falling rather than just the trial's; side effects? He could be overloading on the same thing the Batcave is sensing when the machines turn on.

Better Than it Was by [livejournal.com profile] calypsobard Post season 8; The boys run into Jody Mills. She's still (quite understandably) shaken and freaked by her near-death-by-Crowley. However, once she sees how ill Sam looks, she seizes upon nursing Sam back to health as her new mission.

Just Press Reset by [livejournal.com profile] scribble2much  In the wake of s8 there would have to be some lingering trust issues for Sam regarding Dean's forgiveness and respect. So maybe something years down the line when they are in one of their desperate situations and Dean does a "we're good, right?" check and somehow realizes that Sam flat out doesn't believe him, and has just gotten used to the idea that Dean loves him, sure, but won't ever think well of him or believe that Sam has lived down his mistakes. And Dean is all "YES I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE MY LITTLE BROTHER BUT I ALSO LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE AWESOME" in some very convincing way and then Sam cries

Overflow by [livejournal.com profile] monicawoe Sam/Dean or gen; Getting all charged up for the Trials and then not discharging that energy by closing the gates of hell may not have been such a great idea. Sam's not sick any more, but his powers are back -- visions, telekinesis, other freaky stuff -- and he has no control over it and he's starting fires and hurting people. And then it gets worse and he's causing little cracks in the reality around him, cracks between earth and heaven and hell and purgatory and the fae realm. At this point it's not even that discharging the energy all at once will probably kill him, it's that they don't know how to do it without blowing the whole thing apart.

Helpless by [livejournal.com profile] jasmineisland Sam breaks his collar bone and needs help with the very basics of daily life, IE. getting dressed, brushing his hair and so on.

One Soul, Needfully Patched by [livejournal.com profile] indiachick While Death is building the Great Wall of Sam, he tries to fix as much of the hell trauma as he can. Sam's head is one messy place though.

Work in Progress by [livejournal.com profile] mentholpixie Sam and Dean are at a bar and for some reason (up to the author) a bunch of guys start bad mouthing Sam and making fun of him. Sam just shrugs it off, but NOBODY is allowed to hurt Sam's feelings on Dean's watch, so Dean pretty much knocks the crap outta these guys and makes sure his brother is OK. :)

Anything At All by [livejournal.com profile] center_galaxy Gen, pls! Remember Sam's broken wrist way back when? He had a cast, it healed, all was well. Until somewhere in his late 30s the pain he's been ignoring for a while becomes a constant thing, a constant sense of pain that he feels when it's cold, when rain's coming. It's difficult to use his dominant hand - he can barely hold a pen or a fork, let alone a gun. Under the appropriate assumed identity, Dean takes Sam to get it checked out. They discover that Sam's been walking around with an improperly healed carpal bone and as a result has some nasty degenerative arthritis. It's been years and the doc they go to see doesn't think that there are a great deal of surgical options. He recommends injections to reduce the inflammation, some ibuprofen for daily use, some lortab or percocet when it's particularly bad, and for Sam to do what he can to start training his left hand while at the same time working to keep maximized function of his right. Dean decides this is a good time to hang it up and retire. Little place, little jobs, and Sam and Dean get by - working out Sam's hand, getting injections, and living. But, just because they're done with the supernatural, doesn't mean that it's done with them and when Dean goes missing - Sam and his swollen, knobby "it's not entirely useless, dammit" hand have to find him. It's frustrating, it's dangerous, it hurts - but it's his brother, you know?

Washed Up Like Poison by [livejournal.com profile] starling_night The thing about being human is that you can know things with your mind, believe them with all of your soul, and still have this little place in your heart that doesn't give a shit. Ruby lied to Sam, she manipulated him, and when he was with her - he was as close to being evil as he's ever been, barring the soulless Sam debacle. If she was brought back to life, he wouldn't hesitate to do everything he had to to make certain that it wasn't for very damned long. But, still, here and there, now and then, he thinks of her, he misses her just the tiniest bit. Sure, she was a vile, lying demon, using him to bring about the rise of the Devil and the eventual end of the world, but there were quiet moments, peaceful ones where they'd lie together while the sun came up, while the candles burned down, while the world went from silence to waking. And no matter how it frustrates him, how much he hates himself every time he thinks of her instead of those he misses that actually deserve it (i.e. the Good Saint Jessica), he is unable to do anything with that tiny little place in his heart that thinks "I know it wasn't real, I know she lied and was truly Evil with a capital E, but sometimes, I still miss her."

Scapegoat by [livejournal.com profile] reggie11 Teenchesters. In retaliation to Dean stealing his girl/showing him up/whatever, a school bully (or bullies) drags Sam into the school bathroom and cuts his hair off. Cue distraught Sammy and protective, pissed off, big brother Dean; Gen please!

A City Broken Into by [livejournal.com profile] sharktheory Naomi orders Castiel to kill Sam

Nutcracker by [livejournal.com profile] jasmineisland Sam is hiding that he's injured or more injured than Dean thinks or that he's sick from Dean 'cause he thinks that Dean has enough to 'deal with' already, love it to be canon; Skin, The Benders, Devils Trap, any of the episodes from early Season 2, pretty much any episode in Season 5, Let it Bleed, Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie and sooooo many more episodes where this could happen; Dean gets all guilty when he finds Sam treating himself and mother-hens Sam back to health; Gen or Slash

Instinct written by [livejournal.com profile] monicawoe art by [livejournal.com profile] quickreaver After the trials, Sam doesn't get better. Kevin's theory is that it's cancer: the trials are supposed to purge him of all physical and spiritual impurities, so tuberculosis is out, and cancer is the only reason left for Sam to be coughing his lungs up when he's supposed to be the pinnacle of human perfection. Nope. Sam's falling apart because the demon blood is gone.

Surfacing by [livejournal.com profile] a_starfish Cas's completely, face-palmingly nonsensical "fix" for Hallucifer doesn't work. Not quite all the way, and not forever; Gen or Wincest, any rating.

Time and Time Again by [livejournal.com profile] center_galaxy Kid!Sam time travels forward and meets current!Dean (without current!Sam, preferably, but I'm not that picky). Dean's having a bad time with his PTSD from . Sam freaks out and is generally scared of the big gruff hunter who's trying to help him get home. And then he finds the amulet tucked away somewhere. Or maybe he sees a picture of himself and Dean. Or he's just smart enough to put two and two together. Whatever the case, he figures out that this is what his big brother becomes and he's terrified. Bonus points for wee!Sam witness torturer!Dean.

42 Blankets and Towels by [livejournal.com profile] hadassah934 Sam and Dean are both sick. Charlie finds out and brings chicken soup and geeky movies to the batcave.

Save or Kill by [livejournal.com profile] of_nightingales John shoots Sam. On purpose or accident -- repercussions are going to be severe in any case.

Like Groundhog Day by [livejournal.com profile] foolscapper Gen, during Mystery Spot. So, after countless Tuesdays, let's say Sam's gotten a little desperate. I mean, if Dean dying means resetting the day, then maybe him dying will end the loop? The youngest Winchester figures it's worth a try and starts to put himself in situations where Dean usually died (ex: walking into the middle of the street with a speeding car coming at him). Dean, on the other hand, can't figure out what the heck is going on with his brother. Bonus points if Sam eventually breaks down in tears, puts a gun to his head and Dean has to talk him down from pulling the trigger.

Sam and Dean made it almost all the way to purging the demonic menace from Earth and avenging Kevin's future, girlfriend, and mother. Almost.

And then they quit. Now Kevin is PISSED.

(Feel free to do Evil Kevin if the mood strikes. He's earned it.)

I have a secret enjoyment for stories where Dean hurts Sam in some way (usually physically), Sam cries, and Dean realizes what a horrible brother he's been and takes care of Sam/tries to make it up to him. Bonus for Sam flinching away at first.

Gen only, please. Any season is fine, but I'd like s1 or s2.

Gen. Dean, Sam, and John/Bobby, depending on the time frame. Sam comes down with appendicitis while the three of them are staying in some sort of mountain cabin or other remote location. For some reason (up to you), they temporarily cannot gain access to civilization or professional medical care (i.e. no driving off the mountain or anything), so Sam must lie in agony for days until the others have no choice but to perform a backwoods surgery using whatever limited supplies they have.

John/Bobby can be involved in or even in charge of the medical proceedings, but Dean should be the primary comforter. Teenchesters or adults, please. Thanks!

Gen or Slash, as you prefer. Sam and Dean, together, are the yin and yang of the presently MIA God -- but in order to realize this potential, they have to give up their individuality; yin and yang must become one new and eternally codependent Thing. Sam and Dean weigh the pros and cons. Then they make a decision that will affect all life everywhere, forever.

Asylum fic season 1

Sam and Dean are together but after what happened in that episode things are understandably tense. Sam tries desperately to make it up to Dean, but all Dean does is give him the cold shoulder, not just for a few days, but for a few weeks even. It gets to the point where Sam starts to forget what Dean feels like, and basically just becomes this shell of a person while Dean stubbornly hold on to his hurt and keeps Sam out. It all culminates in something bad happening to Sam, like a hunt goes wrong or a car mows him down. Either way when a guilty feeling Dean tries to comfort and take care of Sam, he soon realizes that maybe he punished Sam more harshly than he deserved, when he sees the emptiness in Sam's eyes. ANGST TO THE MAX and please make Dean work to get Sam back from the brink of despair. PLEASE!

Season 5 fic.

Sam/Castiel

Even though Dean and Sam have reunited, they are only together in the sense that they are in the same room with each other. Dean is cold and unyielding to Sam when he's sober, but add alcohol and Dean is downright abusive. While all of this is happening, Cas watches in silence as Sam just takes all the verbal abuse and maybe even physical abuse that Dean throws at him in his drunken stupors. At first Cas is unsympathetic to Sam, feeling he deserves all of it, but as time passes and he starts to see the strength and attempt at redemption, Castiel's opinion soon starts to change, and before he knows it, he's falling in love. After weeks of abuse, Sam finally reaches his breaking point. One night while Dean's sleeping it off after spewing more vitriol at Sam, a despondent Sam leaves the motel with a gun in hand. He goes to a secluded area and just when he's about to do the unthinkable, Cas intervenes, knocks him out, and takes him somewhere safe. Now a pissed off Cas has it in mind to make Dean realize some harsh truths about how he's been treating his brother, and also gain the trust and love of a very emotionally wrecked Sam. All the while the apocalypse is still looming in the distance.

Hurt!Sam and protective!Dean. Don't really care how and why as long as Dean says this line: "Sam is mine! He's been mine since Dad put him in my arms that night!"

Gen please.

Gen

Sam has the misfortune of crossing paths with a cannibal, who likes to butcher his meat while it still has a pulse. Be and nasty as you want, as long as there is plenty of hurt/ traumatized Sam and protective/also traumatized Dean as well.

Sam becomes addicted to some kind of substance: alcohol, morpine, demon blood... Be creative. I'm partial to morphine because wikipedia tells me there can be spontaneous, painful ejaculations in Stage V of withdrawal it is less deadly - ugly, but cold turkey can be done without killing the guy. And Dean, as a borderline alcoholic who gets too twitchy without a fix himself, knows what withdrawing cold turkey can be like and knows it's going to suck major ass for Sam. And soon. So he hauls them both to the Batcave to ride out the ordeal in a place with all the creature comforts of home - soft beds with all the clean sheets, awesome water pressure, multiple bathrooms... Because Sam doesn't deserve to go through that while squatting in a place that had the water shut off by the city, and he most definitely doesn't need to be in the panic room, something the dumbass keeps mentioning between shivers, insisting he deserves it. Thing is? That was something Dean never really forgave himself for, even if it was necessary.

Basically I want Sam going through a brutal detox in the batcave with a long ordeal replete with diarrhea and vomiting while shaking and crying and sweating and shivering and all the bells and whistles that goes with such a thing.

Gen please with a very caring and focused Dean nursing his brother through withdrawal but also knowing just when to step back and let Sam retain some shred of independence and dignity.

The backstory:

So. The boys settle down and make the Batcave their center of operations. Sam happily hangs up his salt-loaded sawed-off shotgun to become the resident researcher / keeper of the books and indulge his geek for all the rest of his days. Dean splits off and goes on solo hunts Sam digs up for him, mostly run-of-the-mill stuff like ghosts and other low-level stuff. He always makes sure to call Sam regularly though - especially since Sam is showing signs of permanent brain injury from all the trauma, concussions, and other such he's sustained over the years. Dean starts avoiding going home sometimes because he KNOWS it's only a matter of time before he has to settle for good and even though Sam's issues are really only minor at the moment, Dean can't help but spot every single little wrong thing, like Sam forgetting a word or misplacing books.

One day, it goes to shit - Dean doesn't call and Sam freaks out because he's had Dean's hunt worked out to plus/minus five minutes and Dean ALWAYS calls, no matter what, when he's completed a hunt. Sam becomes increasingly irrationally upset as the minutes stretch on and finally dispatches the Calvary - Garth, OC, whoever - to go after Dean. The Calvary obviously goes just to placate Sam so he doesn't work himself up into a heart attack or stroke but it turns out it was a good thing Sam was so anal because Dean is badly hurt with a broken back and paralyzed from the waist/hips down.

Flashforward however much time later - to the actual prompt bit...

Sam is mentally declining - but not full-on out-of-it - and Dean is badass and popping wheelies in his wheelchair (which maybe makes Sam spaz out) and they're all broken and damaged and fucked up, Sam with his memory that holds less water than their pasta strainer and Dean with his occasional bouts of crippling, agonizing back pain, but they're happy and have a fulfilling life where they're okay and retired. Sam still has his books and research-fu and Dean's found his niche in the armory - because the batcave totally has an armory - as a weaponsmaster and he maybe plays around with electronics like repairing EMF meters or whatever else you can come up with and they balance each other out, filling in for the other when they need to...

Gen, please. No Wincest/Slash and, natch, focusing on Sam's brain injury / mental decline.

Sorry if this is oddly specific, but I just watched Heart again the other day, and I would really love a coda to that episode in which the boys are in the Impala after The Incident, and Sam is still all weepy and traumatized, and he eventually gets so worked up (not in a hysterical, uncontrollably sobbing kind of way, just like in an unable-to-stem-the-flow-of-bodily-fluids-from-his-eyes-and-nose-and-so-tense-he-looks-like-he-might-snap-in-two kind of way) that Dean has to let baby bro scoot over on the bench seat and cry into his shoulder as they drive.

Art or fic would be lovely.

AU- Sam tricks John and Dean into thinking he went to Stanford

It's a late and stormy night when Bobby Singer is rudely awakened by a knock at his door. When he answers the door ready to give his late night visitor Hell for coming at such an ungodly hour, he is shocked beyond belief when instead he finds himself with an armful of barely conscious Sam Winchester. While Bobby tends to Sam, Sam blurts out the cryptic words "I did it" before passing out. And then Bobby discovers that Sam has a long gash across his abdomen and horrible bruises and vertical scratch marks on his back. Without thought, Bobby calls John and Dean, who are left stunned as they rush to Bobby's because Sam's supposed to be in college right now, isn't he?

FIC Sam/Dean/Cas- Sam starts to feel like a third wheel

Sam, Dean, and Cas are in this three way relationship and couldn't be happier now that they are in the days of peace with no angels and demons running amok. However, as of late Sam starts to notice that Cas and Dean seem to gravitate towards each other first before him. At first Sam just shrugs it off, but as time goes on it starts to grate on him and Sam starts to feel left out. Sam tries to be more forward with both Dean and Cas, but Dean is merely amused while Cas is accepting of the extra attention, but doesn't seem all that affected. As the days pass, Sam's sadness and loneliness starts to slowly turn into full on despair, with Dean and Cas totally oblivious, thinking everything is just fine and maybe even too wrapped up in enjoying each other to notice. Sam keeps languishing silently, until something happens, like maybe Dean and Cas forget his birthday, or they fail to include him at all in a romantic dinner, or in bed, or even Sam ending up in the hospital and Dean and Cas not showing up until it's really late in the game. Either way, something make Sam snap and unleash all his anger and hurt leaving Dean and Cas both reeling and feeling massive amounts of GUILT and SHAME. PLEASE WHO EVER CLAIMS THIS PROMPT, MAKE DEAN AND CAS WORK TO THE BONE TO GET THEIR SAM BACK AND SHOW HIM HOW MUCH THE DO LOVE HIM! EXTRA PLUS IS SAM IS EXTRA COLD TO ALL OF THEIR ATTEMPTS

Warning for non-con:

I'm really interested in a situation where Sam is either almost raped or is raped on a job and doesn't seem very effected by it (much to his brother's confusion), or Dean looks through Sam's medical history while in the hospital for an accident on the job and: Dean learns his brother had been raped before and still shows symptoms of RTS that he'd never noticed before looking into it. Little things that, as he looks back, are listed signs of possible rape trauma: insomnia, sleep disturbances, eating habits, self-worth issues, phobias towards objects, people types, or situations, relationship/sex problems, issues with intimacy and making friends etc. I'd love to see canon incorporated creatively, because I think it could definitely be done. Any season Sam would be awesome to me. Lotsa' hurt/comfort, and I'd love to see other characters beyond just Dean, but the Winchesters are my fave.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-25 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
So, the boys don't really seem to like seat belts, right? Does the Impala even have seatbelts? An accident happens when the boys are on the road and Sam's ejected out of the vehicle. You can go any direction with this one, that's about all the requirement I have for this prompt. :|

Five times Dean hurt Sam on accident, and one time he did on purpose. I'd love to see some new scenes, and hurt/comfort is always my fave, but I can handle hurt/nocomfort, too.
