Sam's all alone in the bunker with Dean having run out of town for the day. He's feeling a bit morose since no one has mentioned his birthday and frustrated with the dead ends they're up against on the Amara case. He starts cataloguing yet another room full of the Bunker's seemingly never-ending archives to clear his head a bit and mistakenly touches a cursed object that allows him to teleport when he blinks. The first time it happens - he finds himself in some far-reaching place which happens to be the last place he read about while doing research. As he learns to control it, he begins to take advantage of the power and decides it's the best birthday present ever, until the curse turns bad and Dean has to come to his rescue.
