So painful. I've been upset about how that particular part of the trauma was just glossed over in the show, like as soon as Sam's physical wounds were healed all was fine -- though I thought Jared did a fine job conveying Sam's emotional response with what little he was given.
I know the Winchesters survive by compartmentalizing, and that by nature (and genre) the show's ability to explore the psychological aftermath is very limited, but man, as a survivor that really triggered and pissed me off, to the point where I gave up halfway through writing a 12.02 coda. So thank you for addressing what the writers failed to.
