De-aged Sam doesn't get why he can't leave the bunker, and Dean can't properly explain to him that he's vulnerable. He's not a badass hunter anymore, he's a scrawny little kid, and the monsters out there know it, too.

Sam gets out somehow anyway, because he's stubborn and won't take no for an answer, and Dean's worst nightmare comes true.
