Ladies, I have a story that miiiiight fit but might also be too both-are-not-in-the-best-condition to qualify... What's your system for that here? It's 10k, so if neither of you has the time rn to skim it I'd just bow out and simply not crosspost but I thought I'd ask. It got a mention on another Sam-centric comm and my own radar says that it falls more towards this comm than towards hoodie but I'm not sure. /o\

I'm about to head off for the weekend, so I'd say go with your best judgment. Whumping multiple characters is allowed (and encouraged!), so if the story isn't about, say, Dean being mauled by a tiger while Sam gets a splinter, then I think you're safe. ;)

Nah, it's S8 fic so they're both under the weather psychologically and there's instants of physically hurt Dean, but I do feel like the brunt of the emotional hurt is on Sam. He's the POV character, it's about his state of mind in the current season, but he does also mention Dean's. So yeah, my own spidey-sense says hurt!Sam more than it says hurt!Dean.

Soooo, let's say I'm gonna post, but if anyone reads it and roars about it to you guys, you're welcome to take it down immediately without even checking back with me? :)

Hi, good people! Can I put in a suggestion/wistful thought for the future? A year or so ago hoodie_time did a tags challenge, where people signed up and got three randomly selected tags from the list of hurts and had to write a fic that incorporated one or more of the hurts for which they got the tags. It was a fun format; I was just wondering (assuming maypoles wouldn't mind the idea being exported) if ohsam might be interested in using that format for some future challenge.

I was wondering if there's ever a deadline for filling claimed prompts. For example, if someone claimed a prompt in 2011 and hasn't filled it, can someone else take a shot at it? Also, once a fill has been posted, can another writer post another fill? I know r/l can interfere with timely posting, so I'm talking about prompts that are at least a year old.

If we are talking about comment fics, mutiple fills by mutiple people are always welcome, no matter how old or new the prompt is! If you ever see any prompt you like, fill away!

If you're talking about prompts for challenges and not comment-fic meme prompts, then you may fill one if the posting deadline for the challenge has passed. You may not, however, tag it as being part of the challenge or under amnesty.

Hi there,
I was browsing the LJ community and I'm a bit confused on how things run here. There seems to be a comment fic, which people fill. There also seemed to be Prompts and claiming for the h/c challenge back in 2010.I see that some of the prompts has been claimed. If the person who claimed the prompt and that they wrote something for it, would the link be under "prompt is here" , under the author's name, or just tagged elsewhere? As i was browsing through the claimed prompts, there seemed to be alot of unfilled but claimed prompts, or that i'm not looking where I'm supposed. Thanks.

Hi!

There are numerous comment fics that have run since the comm started. If someone fills a prompt, they usually post either the fic itself or a link to it as a reply to the comment itself. All the fills are included in the master list in the post itself, unless the fill was made a very long time after, in which case the post may not be updated.

As for the h/c challenges, the fills are posted separately to the community with the appropriate tag. There is also a master list for each challenge which you can consult.

Also, there are indeed a lot of claimed but unfilled prompts. It is, alas, the nature of such challenges that some people find themselves unable to finish a story for a variety of reasons.

I'm not new to LJ as such, but I'm new to posting fanfiction on here. So, I'm sorry if this has been asked before -- I'm in a bit of a hurry right now, but I just wanted to know -- is it compulsory to tag a deathfic? Wouldn't that be a major spoiler?

The answer is no, it's not compulsory. I would suggest, as a courtesy, that you include a warning in your fic header to that effect. You can "grey out" a warning in order to avoid spoilers while giving people the option to look out for triggers.

Just wondering if it would be okay to post a request for a beta reader here? I'm writing a very Sam-centric fic for the SPNJ2 BigBang that also features lots and lots of Sam being hurt, so it fits the comm's guidelines for posting. Am hoping that a fellow Sam lover will be interested in helping me out as I'm having trouble finding a beta through other comms.
