Stanford-era plot bunny

As with many other topics, whenever I hear something about Stanford, I think of Sam.

The Stanford Steam Tunnels were mentioned on "The Story" (a weekday public radio show) and I just had to look 'em up. Turns out, they're just one of many Stanford traditions. (As is "The Game", which was a main part of the plot in rei_c's Hamartia.)

Anyhoo, I started googling and found this page, the how-to of the Stanford steam tunnels. Then, I found out there's an annual Halloween party held at the Stanford Mausoleum. And, of course, when there's holes and tunnels, there's gotta be an urban legend, although this one relates to Michigan's steam tunnels.

Does all this make anyone else eager for Stanford!Sam fic? All I'm asking for is gen with hurt and/or angsty Sam. The rest is up to you.

I'd love to see a story like that. It's reminiscent of the movie "Mazes and Monsters," one of Tom Hanks' first films, about a group a college kids who get addicted to/caught up in a Dungeons & Dragons type game.
