Mod post: LJ-induced admin stuff

Okay, folks. LiveJournal has "fixed" the comment pages in such a way that we can no longer have subject headers.

This won't affect us right away, but it will the next time we have a comment-fic meme or fic challenge. This is just to let you know that the mods are aware of the problem and we're going to try to find a workaround until such time as LJ removes its head from its ass.

I really don't know. The comment forms have been drastically altered in a way that basically makes it impossible for the comm to function the way it did previously.

Is there anybody on LJ staff we can innundate with protests about this "improvement"? Because for all of us who read and comment on comment memes--or even leave comments and track comments in others' journals, this...renders all of that problematic.

I've been looking for the feedback comm LJ used to have, but I can't find one. Anybody?

Thanks. I stumbled around till I found it. I threatened to not re-up my paid accounts in Feb...and whenever the other one is. Not that LJ cares one bit about my paltry pennies in the bucket.

If I view journals and comms in my own style, I can still add subject lines. I'm typing this to see if the subject is displayed after I posted the comment.

EDIT: Well... in a manner of speaking. I'm editing this comment NOT in my own style and the subject line is nowhere to be seen...

I've been checking with other comms, it seems that if you have a paid or plus account, you can still have comment subject lines too, because I have a paid account and I still have a subject line.

I've noticed that when I view things in 'My Style' I still have subject lines.
