Time for a new comment fic meme! Please read the rules as there have been some adjustments due to the recent comment page changes.

Your prompts may involve sick!Sam, hurt!Sam, angsty!Sam, basically anything that results in Sam being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort. But eventually Dean stumbles upon one thing that's actually effective. Bonus points if it's something really small and schmoopy, like stroking Sam's hair while he's lying in bed.

Not like he's glad that Sam's sick, but it's just a relief to have something wrong with Sam he can help with. And, since he's there at close quarters taking care of Sam, Sam has his opportunity, too: to broach the subject of Dean's drinking, to try to get him to talk about his despair and his downward spiral. Basically, the manageable hurt/comfort routine goes on while Sam and Dean are tentatively touching on the big, huge hurt-don't-know-how-to-comfort stuff.

Sam finds out he has an aneurysm in his brain. It could be life-threatening, but for the moment it is stable and the doctors schedule him for a surgery to repair it, but it is weeks away. Dean freaks out by overprotecting Sam and doing anything he can keep his brain from 'exploding' in the mean time. He practically drives Sam insane when he won't let him run, do any physical exercise, or even go to the bathroom with the door locked. Dean mother-hen's him to the point where he can't stand it anymore and Sam takes off for a walk ... of course, now that he is alone and separated from Dean, this is when his brain decides it's time to explode.

He's been in the business a long time and most of that time he knew John Winchester but never really got to know his kids before, so going on a hunt with them is interesting to say the least. Watching Dean and Sam, how in tandem they are, how much they're like John in different ways. One things for sure though, Dean sure can be one scary mother fucker when Sam is threatened.

It was hard HARD work (either on his own--maybe something really traumatic happened that compelled this new lust for a dry life--or via ye olde Twelve-Step program.) And sure, there are painful desires to backslide but dammit, he's got this. And he's had to do it alone because he can't use anything, anyone as a crutch or an excuse any longer. Upon returning to "life", he discovers Sam has drifted into his own addiction (due to the hallucinations or genetics or hey, it's Tuesday or...yeah. Author's choice!) Now Dean has to get through to Sam and save him from himself, without losing his own hard-won sobriety.

Digging his thumb into the cut on his hand just won't cut it anymore. Sam's self-injuries have gotten more and more serious, but he doesn't want to worry Dean about them. Of course, when he hurts himself so bad he almost dies, he can't hide it.

Season 6: Balthazar comes to collect on his deal with Sam. Only, with the wall up, Sam doesn't remember making the deal in the first place. Of course, Balthazar doesn't sweat the details. Some rescue/comfort by Castiel or Dean or Gabriel would be made of win. :D (bottom!Sam only)

Sam, Dean, I'd love some Missouri but it's fine if you don't want to include her, (Bobby, John too if you'd like), gen please!. Set in or around the first season would be great, as long as both boys are adults in the fic...

Sam develops healing powers along with his visions, but they don't know it's a healing power at first. When Sam touches someone who is hurting in some way, he takes on the injury/symptom/illness that he's just cured for a while (authors choice, it's can a few hours or a few days), so if he cures paralysis he becomes paralyzed for a while, cures a gunshot wound he has to live with a gun shot wound for a while... you get the idea. After this happening the boys maybe go to Missouri, she helps them find out what's happening to Sam, why he takes on the illness of people he touches? She helps him to 'switch it off' so to speak, so that he can only use it when he wants to... switch to that scene in Devils Trap where the YED has messed up Dean in a big way and Sam has no choice but to heal his brother, knowing the consequences...

I know it's a long winded explanation of a prompt, but really you can just use it as background info and cut right to it if you'd like!

s7 timeline, amnesia!Sam:

After one blow to the head too many, Sam loses his memory. He gets separated from Dean somehow, and ends up lost and confused and picked up by the cops (for vagrancy or whatever, I don't care). His biggest problem, though, is that the irritating blond guy that's always hanging around and talking at him? Nobody else can see him. So he gets pegged as a mental case and dumped in the psych ward, surrounded by actual crazy people. Of course, he doesn't take to that too well. His reaction, and eventual rescue, that's all up to the author.

BTW, drugged!Sam is always a nice bonus :)

I am going to keep posting variations on this theme until someone picks it up. So don't worry if you can't do it this time around. ;)

I've had this in my head for a while. In fact, I may have requested it a time or two. s7 or late s6, Sam/Dean or gen. A sort of mundane nervous breakdown. Seriously, I want. If no one else grabs it today, Imma gunna. Ayup.

Season 7, Sam, anyone else. Keeping a hold on reality is an odds game, and sometimes Sam loses. (In 7.01, he wasn't even aware he was driving when he went on his little walkabout.)

He can't snap himself out of it if he doesn't know there's an illusion to snap out of. Until he comes to his senses in Quebec. Or leaning over the edge of a cliff. Or referencing conversations Dean has no memory of. Or -

Sam/Cas. Free To Be You and Me AU. The hunters get a one-up on Sam and knock him out and pretty much take him and do a lot of nefarious things to him. This could either go the full out torture route (which I am always a huge fan of) or them forcing demon blood into him so he can kill demons. I'd rather go the first because there is already a really, really fantastic fic out there about Sam going through withdrawal, but another one is always good! :)

In any event, Lindsay (the girl from the bar) finds Sam's phone and calls the first number there, which is Cas's, because,y 'know, C comes before D, and Dean is currently still pissed off and not answering his phone or something, so Cas is on his own finding Sam, and when he does Sam is a wreck and Cas doesn't have all his juice still and is worried and totally unsure what to do.

Bonus points if the hunters have spent a lot of time drilling into Sam how at fault he is for what's going on, like more than he could possibly have even gotten on his own, and now it's like a Pavlovian response for gut wrenching guilt whenever the real world and how it's dying is mentioned. Also, Dean appearing at some point would be super. :)

After Bobby dies, Dean is obsessed with hunting and killing Dick Roman. He pushes himself to the limit. Sam is trying so hard to keep up and watch Dean's back, but for the first time, his body and/or mind can't meet his demands.

Sam and Dean (and whoever else) - Gen - Post Wall. Due to the trauma he suffered in the Cage, Sam develops a Conversion disorder specifically Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures.

The seizures get triggered by a lot of things/situations, some seemingly inane and Dean tries to help Sam navigate the apparent mine-field the world has become for him.

Yay!. I'm just glad you understood what I meant in the prompt lol. It's an idea that I've had for a while, and I had thought about writing it myself, but someone else will be able to do it more justice than I ever could :)

Inerestingly, some antipsychotics can lead to the development of diabetes (even without associated weight gain).

I love this prompt! It's a great chance to cover how broken & fragile both Sam and Dean are... I'd love to have a bash at this one. I think I may have serious issues with writing angsty/messed-up/fragile Sam :/

Sam/Michael. The archangel falls in love with the human.

Michael has been observing Sam for awhile (like what's so special about the Winchesters anyway?). He witnesses how Sam was hurt time and time again, physically and mentally by both heaven and hell so that he will fulfill his destiny as Lucifer's vessel.

The defining moment for Michael is when he realizes that even when Sam's heart was broken by Dean too many time (season 4/5 angst) Sam never gives up. Sam never gives up on his brother like Michael did Lucifer.

The event of season 5 finale is still the same except, Michael's battling Lucifer to get Sam back. He jumps to the pit with Sam (not Sam drags him). Because it's Lucifer's cage, it took Michael awhile to find Sam. Sam has been tortured. Michael saves Sam and protects him until they somehow escapes the cage.

I know you just commented something similar on my prompt, but I actually cannot wait to read the fill(s) for this one!
