Time for a new comment fic meme! Please read the rules as there have been some adjustments due to the recent comment page changes.

→ Leave a comment here with your prompt. This is a Sam-focused hurt/comfort community, so Sam should be the one in the hurt/comforted role. Your prompts may involve sick!Sam, hurt!Sam, angsty!Sam, basically anything that results in Sam being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort. (No rules against whumping other characters as well, of course, but you have to whump Sam first. ;) )

The sleep deprivation is interfering with hunting and he's all cranky and life just generally sucks but he just can't sleep much. So Sam's exhausted beyond all belief, and Dean is so worried about him. He tries everything he can think of to help and none of it works. But eventually Dean stumbles upon one thing that's actually effective. Bonus points if it's something really small and schmoopy, like stroking Sam's hair while he's lying in bed.

Even if he wants to, he has somehow lost the ability to talk [...] When Dean meets up with him again, he's of course shocked at this new development. Sam wakes up on that dirty mattress after Cold Oak with all of his memories of dying and going to heaven intact in his head (maybe he was reuinted with Jess or finally got to meet Mary and was just starting to enjoy having a mom) and he's resentful towards Dean for bringing him back to life and taking him from the peace he finally had and he's almost desperate to go back.

Dean doesn't know what to do about the whole broken wall, psychotic break, hallucinating Lucifer thing. Then Sam gets caught in the rain and gets pneumonia. And Dean DOES know what to do about that. Not like he's glad that Sam's sick, but it's just a relief to have something wrong with Sam he can help with. And, since he's there at close quarters taking care of Sam, Sam has his opportunity, too: to broach the subject of Dean's drinking, to try to get him to talk about his despair and his downward spiral. Basically, the manageable hurt/comfort routine goes on while Sam and Dean are tentatively touching on the big, huge hurt-don't-know-how-to-comfort stuff.

Sam finds out he has an aneurysm in his brain. It could be life-threatening, but for the moment it is stable and the doctors schedule him for a surgery to repair it, but it is weeks away. Dean freaks out by overprotecting Sam and doing anything he can keep his brain from 'exploding' in the mean time. He practically drives Sam insane when he won't let him run, do any physical exercise, or even go to the bathroom with the door locked. Dean mother-hen's him to the point where he can't stand it anymore and Sam takes off for a walk ... of course, now that he is alone and separated from Dean, this is when his brain decides it's time to explode.

He's been in the business a long time and most of that time he knew John Winchester but never really got to know his kids before, so going on a hunt with them is interesting to say the least. Watching Dean and Sam, how in tandem they are, how much they're like John in different ways. One things for sure though, Dean sure can be one scary mother fucker when Sam is threatened.

Dean gets his shit together in the drinking department. It was hard HARD work (either on his own--maybe something really traumatic happened that compelled this new lust for a dry life--or via ye olde Twelve-Step program.) And sure, there are painful desires to backslide but dammit, he's got this. And he's had to do it alone because he can't use anything, anyone as a crutch or an excuse any longer. Upon returning to "life", he discovers Sam has drifted into his own addiction (due to the hallucinations or genetics or hey, it's Tuesday or...yeah. Author's choice!) Now Dean has to get through to Sam and save him from himself, without losing his own hard-won sobriety.

Because I can never get enough of this- S7 Sam goes on a food run when Dean’s on the couch with his broken leg. He has a space out moment. Dean finds him in the pouring rain a couple of hours later.

Sam is beaten/tortured into submission and Dean has to deal with not only the physical injuries and consequences, but the psychological ones as well.

I want Protective!Cas. Any season (apart from before Cas is introduced), any situation. I just wanna see Castiel go all Guardian Angel rage on someone for daring to hurt Sam. Gen or Sassy, I'm fine with either :)

Season 7. Pardon me for reposting this prompt:

If Sam hallucinates being possessed, then for all practical purposes, he actually is possessed -- just a lot harder to trap or exorcise.

Post-Hell fic with a twist.

Sam goes to Hell, but not as a result of him being part demon or letting Lucifer free. Maybe it's the result of a deal to save Dean, or something else, but he's completely innocent, and suffers all the more because of it.

Lots of focus on Dean's guilt and h/c when Sam gets rescued somehow.

Preferably Dean/Sam.

Season 5 AU. Sam gets hit by a curse that turns him back into a teenager, complete with the joys of growth spurts, growing pains, and the clumsiness that comes with a changing body. Thanks to all these changes Dean won't let him do anything but research until he's back to normal. Castiel is left to make sure Sam doesn't do anything stupid, and tries to help him feel better.

During The Mentalists, one of the psychic's noticed that Dean is not all right (or heard from Ellen, whatever), but I was honestly really, really hoping that one of the super rad older lady or older man psychics (one of the real ones) maybe caught a glimpse of the inside of Sam's pretty, pretty, pretty crazy broken head.

Season 6 or 7. Mind-downloading bad guy IMPLODES from the horror that is Sam's brain. Dean sees the implications and tries to confront Sam about what he's dealing with every day, and Sam tries to laugh it off.

Probably waaaay too late for another prompt, but oh well.

Four-year-old Sammy Winchester has an imaginary friend, as is common in children of his age. John overreacts big time.

Monster-of-the-week takes a younger Sam down on the hunt. Dean covers his brother's eyes while he puts pressure on the wound. His voice is desperate, cracking. As long as Sam doesn't see how bad it is, they can both trick themselves into thinking that everything will be okay.

Teen!chesters, gen, AU prompt during A Very Supernatural Christmas

After telling Dean he'd read their father's journal and hearing Dean's explanation, Sam lies down on his bed, curls on his side facing away from Dean, and cries.

He doesn't cry because he now knows monsters are real and his family hunts them. He cries because his dad is insane and when he's off on a hunt, he must be murdering people and animals he's deluded himself into believing are monsters. And Dean, his older brother and protector, has somehow bought into this impossibility rather than face the fact they're living with a probable serial killer.

If I can, I'd like to prompt the picture from the first banner for this comment fic meme adding in how did he get there and what happens next (while disregarding what the actual situation in the show was).

s7 post wall Sam. Anything focusing on Sam breaking down and admitting how much he missed Dean while he was in the cage.

Post-wall: sleep deprivation, exhaustion, pain, hallucinations

Someone puts a curse on Sam that keep him from sleeping or passing out. No matter how tired and exhausted he is, he can't sleep. When e's injured he can't pass out from pain or blood loss. When he gets sick, he has to get through everything without rest.
The more sleep-deprived he is, the worse his hallucinations get. His mind would have played trick on him after a while anyway, but with Lucifer in his head, he is plain and simply going insane.

Dean has to break the curse before it's too late. He also has to comfort his sick/ill little brother and keep him from doing something stupid.

Season 7. Sam has a minor injury that temporarily stops him from going on his morning jogs. He gets a little stir crazy -- and his mental balance gets more and more out of whack. Running was the healthiest coping mechanism he had . . .

Any season, Gen, Sam and Dean.

For what ever reason, Sam is a nervous wreck and has a panic attack or nightmare/night terror and runs outside barefoot. He ends up messing up his feet and maybe also has grazes/gravel rash on his knees and hands etc. from when he trips. Dean has to catch up to him and calm him down and treat his wounds. Bonus points for cuddling and other brotherly comforts.

Imagine if crucifixion was one of Lucifer's favourite ways to torture Sam in the cage, and now he can't look at a crucifix with out remembering or having a flashback.

Pre series:Gen.

I'd like to see a fic in John and Dean take Sam on one of his early hunts. John is sure that it will be a simple case and ok for Sam to come along. But something goes awry and Sam witnesses something horrific. Like a particularly gruesome death , the death of a child, or someone being tortured. He's totally traumatized and doesn't want to hunt ever again. But maybe Dean and John are shaken up too and don't know how to handle the situation. An ass kicking , straight talking Bobby wouldn't go amiss either.

A bit of total randomness:

Sam dies in Cold Oak. When he gets to heaven, he runs into an angel who offers to swap Sam's place in heaven with his father's in Hell. Sam goes along with it and by the time Dean gets him back from the dead, he's been in Hell for a (relatively) brief time--a few months or years. And he does remember. It wasn't enough to drive him around the bend a la season 7, but it still left him with lots of bad memories, some trauma (Think POW or something similar), etc. And then he finds out Dean's going to Hell in a year...
