OhSam Triple Play 2016!
It's November 2, an auspicious (if ominous) day for our darling Sam, so to herald his introduction to The Red Stuff, let's revisit an annual tradition. Welcome to the OhSam Triple Play 2016! This year, we're offering a focus on a reoccurring theme in Sam's life: blood.
"Blood" could be interpreted in many ways. Family don't end with blood. The demon blood addiction. Injury. Familial woes. Blood magicks. Simply the color red. If it can be related to blood, even vaguely? IT'S ON POINT.
BOOST THE SIGNAL
And here's how we play!
Step One (mandatory): Write a three-part prompt.
1.) Pick a setting
2.) Pick an additional character or characters (Sam is assumed, naturally.)
3.) Pick an H/C scenario, with Sam as the focus. Other characters can share the misery, but Sam should get the brunt of it. That's how we roll. :D
You can make as many prompts as your little heart desires, one set per comment, but it would probably work best if kept simple. For instance: 1.) West Virginia 2.) Dean 3.) knives, or 1.) Bobby's Panic Room 2.) Mary 3.) demon blood withdrawal.
Step Two (optional): Fill a prompt!
Participants can choose to make visual art: create a drawing, painting, photomanip, or video based around an offered prompt set. All three points must be addressed. The art can be doodled or extravagantly detailed, artist’s choice. And, of course, Sam should be the primary focus of the h/c. Please reply with your art under the prompt you choose, and either put the art beneath a cut or supply a link to it, with appropriate header and warnings! (See "Posting Guidelines" in the left sidebar.) As subject lines are no more, please begin your fills with the word FILLED and a TITLE in BOLD.

“Thanks for coming in,” Kadinsky says. He waves the receptionist away. “Your brother,” he pauses. “Physiologically, his condition’s no different. He’s still not responding to the sedatives and Lord knows, we’ve given him enough to knock out an elephant. But his vital signs are unchanged.”
Dean snorts. “So where’s the fire?”
Kadinsky steeples his hands on the desk. “Sam’s mental condition appears to have deteriorated. When the nurse went in to do his obs at 1.00pm, she found that he’d self-harmed.”
Dean raises an eyebrow. “What does that mean? What did he do?”
“Your brother was able to get hold of a nail by kicking in a wall and pulling a nail out of the wall frame. He used it to carve these…satanic…symbols all over his body. And he also appears to have bitten himself and drawn symbols on the walls of his room. With his own blood.”
“You didn’t hear him kicking down a wall?”
Dean does his best to sound like someone who might sue for dereliction of duty. Kadinsky looks shamefaced.
“Take me to see him,” Dean says.
Kadinsky nods. “We’ve got him strapped down now, for his own safety,” he hesitates. “It would help if you could tell us a bit more about his history.”
“No offense, but I really doubt that,” Dean stands. “Can I see my brother now?”
Kadinsky looks up at him. “He keeps saying, ‘not getting in me again, not gonna let him inside me again.’ Mr Smith, do you know…was your brother sexually assaulted? It really does help us to treat patients if we know what we’re dealing with.”
Dean closes his eyes. Fights back his own demons. “I don’t know. He was…abducted. Held captive. Got free somehow, but there are gaps in his memory. Can I see him now? Please?”

Bobby’s scathing about Sam’s finger painting. “I’m surprised the spell even worked,” he grumbles. “Is this a rune or a bloody thumb print?”
Sam huffs out a tired laugh. “So it’s not my best work. I’m exhausted, Bobby. Dying, probably. Maybe it doesn’t look pretty, but the spell worked. No-one noticed what I was doing until the nurse came in here to check on me.”
“You’re lucky it worked,” Lucifer says from the floor. “With your unclean, polluted blood it’s a miracle you can get blood magic to work for you,” he folds his arms across his chest and scowls. “And may I just say that I am personally very hurt by all those angel repelling sigils you’ve carved into yourself. That’s my vessel you’ve sullied, Sammy-boy.”
“Screw you,” Sam spits.
The door opens.
“Hey, Sammy,” says Dean. “What’s with the art project? You’re scaring the civilians.”
The good thing about being in a locked ward is that a little craziness is expected, so Sam can tell the truth without repercussions. “It’s to purify me. Keep the devil out,” he tells his brother.
Dean sits on the edge of Sam’s bed and grasps his shackled hand. “He’s not real, Sammy.”
“He says the same thing about you.”
Dean rolls his eyes. “I think I’ve seen this episode before. C’mon, Sammy. Stone number one, remember?”
Lucifer sets off a firecracker and Sam flinches. “I know. But the hallucinations are pretty convincing. I figured…better safe than sorry, you know?”
Dean squeezes his hand. “We’re gonna beat this. I’m gonna find you help. I’ve got a lead. Just…no more blood play, all right?”
“I know,” Sam nods. “It’s not clean. I’m not clean.”
The words are dripping with self-loathing and recrimination and Dean can’t let that stand.
“No,” he says. “What’s in you doesn’t matter. What you do matters, and you’re a good man, Sammy. You always try to do good. So no matter what voices you’re hearing telling you otherwise, you believe me. I believe in you, man. And we will beat this. Together. Okay?”
Sam nods, his eyes sliding briefly away and then back to Dean’s face.
“Okay,” he echoes.
Dean gives his brother’s hand one final squeeze and then gets to his feet. He’s got a healer to track down.

Poor Sam. The pain he was going through was so heartbreaking. And I loved the brotherly h/c, Dean was so gentle with Sam and I loved it *flails*
Also, I loved this line: There are probably more tactful ways he could’ve put that, but whatever, he’s sliding toward the veil himself right now, not to mention certifiably insane.
