Welcome back to another November, and our annual November 2nd meme!

This time around, we're going to do a good old-fashioned comment meme. Starting right now (no, really, right now) post any prompt in the comments of this post, as long as it is h/c-related and Sam-centric.

As soon as you see a prompt you like, fill it! Write a fic, make some art, use your imagination. Post a reply to the original prompt comment with your work or, if it's a lengthy fic or art, a link to the work in your journal or elsewhere.

The rules:
-Post one prompt per comment, please. This makes it easier to track, and easier to tell which fills go with which prompts.

-Post as many prompts as you'd like! The more, the merrier.

-Same goes for fills. You're welcome to fill as many prompts as you want to, and multiple people can absolutely fill the same prompt. We love to see different takes on the same concept.

I wanna see Sam, 12, running into a burning building to save people. Why not add in some protective Dean and John freaking out that his youngest has run straight into a burning building?

Prompt: Sam and Dean are fighting again about Jack. Dean says some hurtful words to Sam. Jack is watching all this and becomes stressed. His stress opens the door to the alternate world. But not only that, it also opens the door to the cage. Sam and Jack get sucked into the cage while Mary comes back. After some time, Jack was finally able to get them back to the bunker. Cue guilty Dean taking care of Sam, with Mary and Jack helping.

Prompt: Someone else requested Sam losing a leg -- I'd like to see him lose an arm, and see him getting used to trying to do things one-handed. Ending up in tears because he can't figure out how to put his watch on his remaining wrist. Forgetting he's only got one arm and trying to carry a lot of stuff and then realizing he's got no way to open a door. Just all of the frustration that comes with having to re-learn how to do a lot of things, and Dean helping him through it.

Prompt: Sam's a teenager, so Dean and John expect that he's going to go through one of those moody phases where he hates talking to his family, but this is just getting ridiculous. Half the time Sam doesn't even answer them, and both of them are getting frustrated with Sam's attitude. They don't realize, though, that Sam is slowly starting to lose his hearing -- he's not ignoring them, he's just not hearing them.

Prompt: Sam has a kind of supernatural synesthesia. Which might be great when he's hunting, because he can recognize monsters by the color or sound or whatever that they give off. It's less good when he's faced with beings like Lucifer and other big bads, whose power creates an overwhelming sensory experience.

Prompt: Sam contracts mono early at Stanford and essentially loses the semester, and then his scholarship. With nowhere to go and no way to pay, he attempts suicide. The school contacts Bobby, who tracks down John and Dean. Dean arrives in California to save the day. Gen please. :)

Err...since its apparently okay for multiple people to fill the same prompt, I also took a shot at this one. Definitely don't want this to take away from Hollyhobbit's but this sunk its hooks into me last night.

I'm apparently better at the hurt than I am at the comfort, unfortunately. Sorry, Sam.

In the Cage

Adam leans over him, knife hand shaking violently.

And Sam forgives him.

It doesn't hurt any less.

After the Cage

It still floors Sam sometimes to realize that technically speaking, he's spent far more years of his life with Adam, the brother he never knew he had, than with Dean, the brother who practically raised him.

Adam knew him more intimately too. Learned to speak Sam in all the ways that counted. Count.

Sam rides shotgun in the Impala and watches as an orange-red flare of sunlight hits the windshield, shooting off gold sparks on the edges of his vision.

Adam had been the best at fire. A real artist with a blow torch.

So said the Devil. So say we all.

In the Cage

Lucifer gives them a choice. The Devil always makes you choose. It's kind of his thing.

Sam says no. He says no and no and no again.

People think Sam only knows how to say yes, and he supposes that he can't blame them for that. But really, he has had a lot of practice with saying no.

Adam says yes.

Lucifer is delighted and promptly vows to teach Adam everything he knows.

Sam reminds himself that Adam is young, that Adam doesn't have experience or training the way Sam does, that it's more than a little bit Sam's fault that Adam is here in the first place.

It doesn't make the iron brands burn any less hot.

After the Cage

From time to time, Sam will advantage of his insomnia to scope out the Bunker library, see if there isn't something new there that he hasn't seen before. He picks his nights carefully, making sure Dean is safely within his room.

He doesn't find anything, isn't even sure how hard he's looking. He just knows that he couldn't live with himself if he ever completely stopped.

Dean comes out one night, treading so silently that Sam jumps like a cartoon character.

Dean studies the expression on Sam's face, blinking at him owlishly for a moment, like this is all too early in the morning for Dean to process. Then he walks over to Sam and pries the book he's been reading from Sam's nerveless fingers, pausing for a second to check the title.

"Dude," Dean says compassionately. "You need to get some sleep."

Sam looks away.

"Hey, Sammy. Look at me."

Sam returns his gaze, reluctantly.

"You're out. You're out and you're never going back in. So reading about the Cage, about him? It's not gonna get you anything but nightmares. And neither of us needs the extra help in that department."

Sam can't find the right words to explain what he's actually looking for, so he just lets his brother guide him back to bed. Because they both want to pretend that Dean still knows him best.

In the Cage

Adam is up to his elbows in Sam's intestines, straddling the thin line between violent sobbing and hysterical laughter.

Sam's mouth is sewn shut, but he forgives his brother with his eyes.

Thank you for filling my prompt!

I love the whole idea of Sam feeling that Adam knows him best due to the years they spent in the cage and through Adam's torture. Such a chilling but wonderful fic! Thank you for sharing :)
