Author's Note: This story takes place mostly in 1994, but is bookended by events in 2010, some from “The Song Remains the Same.” A few lines of dialogue from that episode do appear at the very end of the story.

This story is intended to take place within canon, but due to time travel and the complexities related thereto (“wibbly wobbly timey wimey,” as the Doctor would say), unintended AU issues may have arisen without my knowledge.
