Warnings: Sad stuff from the Cage, pain, misery, mild gore and dark themes, the usual. There may be other warnings for later chapters, and I'll warn for them on each update should they crop up. There's a lot of Sam whump as well! And some unpleasant mental/emotional pain for a child in the story, so if little kids hurting (especially mentally or emotionally) makes you uncomfortable, might wanna skip out on this 'verse.
Summary: Sam is an infant, and Dean does what he can for him as he makes his way to Bobby's place in the hopes they'll find a cure.

Dean pictures it: Ben coming home to a kid brother in complete confusion, Lisa trying to be the mother Sammy never had, Dean pretending he's Sam's father — and would that really be very different from a long, long time ago? They would be a good family, just like they were to Dean. They'd love Sam. Who couldn't love Sam, young or older?
