I really, really want someone to write something for me, because the idea is good, BUT I'll never be able to do it justice.

WIAWSNB -- Jessica dies anyway, either before or after the wedding, doesn't matter (car accident, accidental fire, I don't care) and that destroys Sam.  He quits school before finishing his Master's and moves back home; Dean has cleaned up his act, stopped drinking like a fish, and started treating his woman right -- and his mother.  Sam goes back to live with Mary, and basically falls apart.  I want him addicted to something (not pot, it doesn't hold much water for me) strong, quitting and starting in a cycle; going through periods of withdrawal at home with Mary, with Dean, even going through a bout of withdrawal in the hospital.  End it anyway you like -- I prefer wincest, but gen is awesome too.  Someone please run with this...

This doesn't fit exactly. It's not WIAWNSB world, but it's a non-supernatural world where Sam and Dean are 'normal', but still have a lot of problems. And Jess dies which sends Sam into a downward spiral with alcohol and Dean tries to deal with it. This made me cry it's so heartbreakingly written.
