Okay, prompting is officially over, and claims can begin!

Please claim ONE prompt only for now. Next Monday I will open up claiming for multiple prompts, but I want to make sure everyone has a shot at claiming a prompt they really really want.

Click on the link provided with the prompt and post a reply to the comment with "CLAIM" in the subject line. Please make sure no one has claimed the prompt before you. I will do my utmost to stay on top of updating the claims list (claimed prompts will be struck out and the name of the claimer added at the end), but I cannot do so while I am at work, so bear with me. Prompts are posted in the order in which they were received. If the pairing/genre isn't specified, it's because the prompter didn't mention a preference.

If you don't recognize your prompt, it's because I was forced to shorten for the sake of concision. Sometimes I drastically shortened the prompts, sometimes I took the essence of the prompts and summarized, and sometimes I left them as is. Full prompts are available if you click on the link. Seriously, folks, concision is an art form! ;)

- Gen, set post "Slash Fiction", spoilers for that. Sam's wall issues come back in full force after the revelation about Dean and Amy. He's hysterical by the time Dean finds him and tries to calm him down. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] cherry916

- Gen. Season 2. Gordon does more than just try and blow Sam to bits and pieces and he's a more formidable foe than even Dean realized. Much h/c with tied!up Dean trying desperately to save Sam. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] mentholpixie

- Gen. Season 6. Samuel Campbell was more obsessed than Sam and Dean realized, he will stop at nothing to try and bring Mary back even if he has to sacrifice his youngest grandson in a ritual to do so. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] vail_kagami

- Voicemail and amulet fix it fic. Gen or Wincest is okay. Set in season seven sometime. Something Sam and Dean is hunting badly hurts Sam and tells Dean about the voicemail. The voicemail and amulet issues are finally resolved. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] jennytork

- Gen. Season 7. Spoilers for up to Slash Fiction. With all the stress and tension surrounding Sam, having to deal with Lucifer, The Leviathans, The realization that Dean lied and killed Amy and old foe raises it's ugly head...a migraine and even if Dean couldn't do anything else to make Sam feel better he at least knows how to handle this situation. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] callistosh65

- Gen. Ever since Sam joined Stanford, Azazel's minions have found ways to feed Sam increasing quantities of demon blood without Sam ever finding out. Sam's feeling great - college is working out better than he'd ever hoped, and he feels the best he has in a long, long time.

Then - Dean shows up claiming their father is missing, and two nights later, Jessica burns on the ceiling of their apartment and Sam leaves Stanford and his old life forever.

It doesn't take long for withdrawal to kick in - at first Dean thinks it's the stress and exhaustion, then the worst of the symptoms kick in and both of them are terrified. Dean has no idea how to deal with the situation, while all Sam wants - and he wants so very, very badly - is relief, and he will do whatever his instincts tell him to get it.
Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] hillz_85

- Gen. Season 4. Despite the ever growing rift between them and Sam's tendency to lie at every turn, Dean finds it amusing how hard it is for Sam to even lie about a cold. Sam doesn't find ANY of this amusing, his throat hurts, his head hurts and he's sneezing every few minutes he wishes Dean would just stop smirking at him like he's 4 again. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] m14mouse

- Gen preferred but Wincest is okay too. Anytime during the first three seasons or season seven during the cabin recovery. Guillain-Barre syndrome

- When I saw the ambulance drive off and the Leviathan Dr pull out his phone, I had a "The Fugitive" flashback when the ambulance was so easy to find and track. Bobby's got to ditch the ambulance ASAP and get less conspicuous transport, but Sam's unconscious and BIG and it's not like Dean can help.

- When Sam confronts Amy in the woods, she gets away by slamming his head into a tree. That was the last straw as far as Sam's brain was concerned.

When Amy's done killing the drunk and getting the pituitary, she passes by Sam and realizes he's not doing so well. She feels guilty and takes Sam back to her house to nurse him better, which is where Dean finds them, with her son, a day later.

- 7.03 prompt: The young man is just standing there on the sidewalk, rubbing the palm of his left hand and looking more and more confused and anxious. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] rainylemons

- Gen. Any season. Sam has always had special needs, his focus wanes and he's more childlike than his 6'4 status makes him appear, and with that he needs Dean's help to do normal things. Dean looks back on their childhood and remembers all the times he's had to take care of/protect Sam due to his vulnerable state and all the times he argued with their dad over his priority of hunting. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] jesseofthenorth

- In 7.06, Sam finds out Dean lied to him about killing Amy. However, at the end of 7.02, Sam was only able to shut out Hallucifer by believing that the Dean in front of him, hurting his hand, was real. Dean even told him to use that belief in his brother as stone #1 on rebuilding his mental foundation. Given that in 7.06 Leviathan!Sam said that Sam has hell running through his head all the time and that it's amazing he's walking and talking, Dean's deception has struck Sam a devastating blow.

He wants to leave Dean, but he heads away not using the road, but by walking down a pier that ends in water. Is Sam seeing reality or does he think he's on stable ground? What if he just keeps walking until he hits water?

- Gen. Post 702, Sam's head it quite the mess. He keeps having these temporary pockets of amnesia that come and go, where he's stuck with two guys he doesn't recognize and a third who's trying to get him to hurt himself. He just wants to leave and find somewhere to hole up and figure out who all these people are. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] lunasky3

- (AU. Always-a-dog!Dean) Sam's dog Dean is turned permanently human, and uses this position to save Sam from his abusive father, John. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] ceedeeandco

- Season 7. Dean finally cuts off the damned cast and they make ready to leave the cabin. Sam has taken to long walks/runs in the woods to shake off Lucifer but as luck would have it, he gets disoriented and the hallucinations act up and he finds himself well and truly lost. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] annabanana815

- s7 timeline, Sam/Dean or gen. Sam is blinded on a hunt. Hard enough to adjust, but unfortunately Sam can still see his hallucinations. Vividly. More than ever, he has to find ways to ground himself in tactile, concrete contact with reality. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] ancastar

- Pre-series, Sam&Dean gen (Sam/Jess optional). Sam gets hit with some kind of mystical pregnancy while he's at Stanford, totally freaks out, and calls his big brother to come help him fix things (but begs him not to tell John). I'm imagining lots of frantic research and brotherly re-bonding and hiding things from Jess; bonus points for Jess being awesome once she finally figures out what's going on. Ended however you like.

- Pre-series, gen. Sam's about 17, and Dean has gone off with John for a hunt that will last a week or two. Sam's happy about this because he's desperate to make some cash to pay for the SATs and AP tests, but it's impossible to hide getting a job when Dean and John are around. Sam lies about his age--he's had his growth spurt by now and can easily pass for over 18--and gets a job working at night. Something physical--stocking shelves, warehouse work, etc. So, Sam's going to school all day, coming home and trying to sleep for a few hours plus get his homework done, and then going to work all night. He ends up working himself to exhaustion and getting sick. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] moviegeek03

- Wincest preferred, but not mandatory. They spend three weeks in the cabin after the hospital but before the episode really starts, and I want to know details. Dean's in a cast, Sam is unconscious (for how long?), and Bobby is in and out on business, figuring out the Leviathans, whatever. I just want Dean lying on the bed next to an unconscious/semi-conscious Sam, fretting and talking to him and keeping himself calm while he worries about his brother. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] lavishsqualor

- Oh, it's the old "they've been cursed" trope! S7, so spoilers for that. Sam can't speak, but that's ok because Dean can't hear. It's going to wear off on its own in a few days. Sam can communicate only through bitchfaces, eyerolls and notes on a notepad. But it's not so easy for Sam to tell Dean when he's hallucinating if he thinks the notepad is a head and the pen in a scalpel. Or someting. Prefer Wincest established-relationship but ok with gen too.

- . s7, Sam/Dean or gen .Sam is compensating for having Lucifer in his head by going into hyperfunctional mode. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] checkthemargins

- 7.03 Dissociative fugue. Sam's head injury combined with his PTSD from Hell causes him to slip into a fugue state and he wanders off from Rufus' cabin while Dean and Bobby are asleep. You could have him waking up somewhere, hurt and covered in blood, but with no memory of what happened or he's gone off and formed himself a new identity and Dean has to find him and help him remember who he really is. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] scullspeare

- Gen. Set any time in seasons 1-6. After a hunt gone wrong, Sam gets wounded by a creature of your choice. Days later a supernatural infection grips hold of him and despite Dean's best efforts and every prescription drug he can get his hands on, it won't let go. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] tattooeddevil

- We haven’t seen enough of Soulless- and Hell-Sam, in my estimation! So, Sam has a big, whopping hallucination where he finds himself sharing a drink with his other selves, discussing life, the universe, and everything. But Soulless is a mean drunk and starts picking fights with the world, most especially his Hell self. Sam finds himself in the middle of the fracas, and between Soulless’ cold brutality and Hell’s first-hand knowledge of torture. It’s a mess. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] emmram

- Season 7 gen - Sam has food poisoning or a stomach bug. Dean's trying to take care of him, but Sam keeps seeing Lucifer telling him that Dean's the one poisoning him, making him sick. As he gets weaker from being sick, he has a more difficult time resisting the hallucination. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] debbiel66

- Sam goes deaf in August of his senior year at Stanford (reason why is up to author). He's already with Jess at this point and she takes great care of him, learns sign with him, helps him keep going. Then Dean shows up, completely oblivious about Sam's new problem. Gen with Sam/Jess, please. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] prairie_city

- Sam developed Type 1 diabetes while at Stanford. It's not that he doesn't WANT to tell Dean, just that there's never a good time... Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] embroiderama

- Post-wall Sam gets a bad head injury (S7, AU, or whenever) and in order to deal with it, doctors have to shave his head. When he comes to he finds himself with short hair for the first time... ever. To make matters worse, his hands are a bit shaky and he has trouble shaving his face, so on top of short hair, he also has a slowly-growing beard. Long story short: he's never looked less like himself in his life. The guy he sees in the mirror? That's not him. And for a kid who's trying his darndest just to hold it together enough to believe in the rest of the world, it's pretty rough not to recognize even yourself. All the bonus points for Dean tenderly shaving Sam's face. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] quickreaver

- Sam went on a solo hunt at Stanford and seriously (read: forever) fucked up his leg/s. Hip, knee, ankle, whatever, you know the drill. Dean swoops in, grabs Sam, Lady-in-White, yadda yadda, and it's not until they're really moving around during the case that he sees that Sam's not as 100% as he'd thought. Dean freaks out. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] running_hot

- Due to some incident at Stanford Sam is left one leg short. The only hunter who knows is the one he had listed as as contact, his "Uncle" Bobby. As such, Bobby demands Sam spend every break at the salvage yard. And then, of course, one break, Dean and John show up, asking for some backup. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] mamapranayama

- Season 2. In 2.01, while both Dean and John were still unconscious, Sam had a pretty hideous hospital experience. [...] Dean knows and is sympathetic, but Sam has this chest infection that's getting steadily worse, and Dean's a good nurse but this is starting to look above their pay grade. Dean HAS to bring him to the ER, and Sam is just scaaaared. Dean gets a drugged-up Sam to sleep with his head in his lap in the waiting room while he harasses doctors. Gen please. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] authoressnebula

- AU during Devil's Trap. Gen, please. Sam is the one who Azazel hurts instead of Dean, and is also the one in the coma, and thus the one who John makes the deal for. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] 4422shini

- Post 7.06. Sam is furious. He doesn't want to talk to Dean, he doesn't want to even look at Dean,... but without Dean as a distraction, Dean just being there reminding Sam that he's out of the cage, he knows it won't be long before the Lucifer in his head shows up again and he loses touch with reality.

So Sam walks down the pier, away from Dean, then he drops his duffle and starts pacing back and forth between Dean on the shore and the end of the pier. Sam just... he doesn't know what to do.
Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] tammyb_1993

- After Dean got his GED and stopped attending school, he's going with Dad on more hunts. The hunt for the kitsune wasn't the first time Sam was left alone for days at a time, and it won't be the last. Yes, money, worrying about Dean and Dad, and school are all issues, but Sam finds that the lonliness is the hardest thing to deal with. There is literally no one he can really talk to. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] clex_monkie89

- Sam has a complete psychotic break after finding out about Amy and telling Dean to leave without him. His usual coping mechanisms don't work and he ends up attempting suicide while he's alone in a motel roomHe's shipped off to a hospital where he's commited to a psych ward and drugged to the gills so much that he's almost a zombie and he's brainwashed by the doctors into believing that he's a danger to himself and others. When Dean finds him, he tries to break Sam out, but Sam won't let him because he's afraid he might hurt Dean or others. Dean has to find a way to show him otherwise. Gen preferred. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] stella_down

- Season five fic, gen or Wincest. With everything falling apart on him, post 5.18, Sam tries to kill himself, but Bobby finds him. It's revealed that he also tried after Dean rejected him during the phone call in "The End". The boys make up.

- In 7.03, while Dean's in Amy's hotel room telling her she should've changed her license plates, there's a leviathan in Sam's telling him the same. That and how stupid it was to use the same credit card to book the room that'd he'd used at the Sip 'n Go. I mean, using a rockstar's name? How trackable can you get?

However, once the Leviathan attacks and bites the arm Sam put up to defend himself, he realizes that Sam isn't any ordinary human. The taste of his blood? Better than nacho cheese! He puts a torniquet on Sam's arm, planning to save him like a vampire would for periodic feeding, and waits for Dean's return.
Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] leah_elisabeth

- Fic set anytime, gen. Sam ends up getting sick with a cold three times in a seven week period. There's a hospital trip at one point. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] shangrilada

- Gen, Wincest, or gen with massive & messed up subtext all welcome. Something causes Sam to have a psychic episode that neither Sam nor Dean can get a handle on. Like most of Sam's psychic episodes, this one is agonizing and debilitating—even more so than usual, and for much longer. Rather than the photogenic trickle his schnoz usually sports during such things, Sam's psychic beezer becomes a veritable fountain, too. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] clex_monkie89

- Gen. After 'Defending your life', Sam's not nearly doing as well as he claims and he feels the need to keep moving and hunting at all times. He barely sleeps or eats and he runs obsessively as a coping mechanism. However, all of this wears his body down and starts to make him sick. He catches a cold at first, but it only gets worse since he continues to run everyday, even when it's raining and snowing. Even though he's sick and getting worse everyday, Dean can't get him to stop and slow down until he finally collapses from sheer exhaustion. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] greeneyes_fan

- Gen. Post season 6, Hell!Sam and Robo!Sam are still there with Sam, and have gained control through his splintered psyche, aaaaaand he still has Hallucifer. Sam shifts through personalities like a persons shuffling cards, and Dean doesn't know what the fuck is going on. He's still got his cast (and is high on pain meds) on and is having a hard time keeping Sam grounded.

- S7, gen or Wincest. Being tortured for six times longer than your entire life is bad for you, granted, but the more pertinent problem is that that spending a couple centuries with angels in on a plane where none of the convenient Earth-bound filters apply is a literally brain-breaking experience. So if you do come back from that, your brain's never looking at anything the same way again. Even your brother. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] de_nugis

- Soulless Sam is sick. Really sick. Dean has to deal. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] ratherastory

- Mystery Spot. Somewhere around the 80th Tuesday, Dean dies in a very horrible, slooow way, and Sam spends the night reassuring him that everything's going to be okay and generally takes amazing care of him. He wakes up to the next Tuesday and he just can't. He can't. He won't get out of bed, he doesn't have the energy to tell Dean what's wrong, and he's a sobbing mess because he knows Dean can only make fun of him for 24 hours. He is just completely broken, can't stop crying, making himself sick. Dean is so confused and so concerned. Gen please. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] 27_jaredjensen

- Post-7.04. Lucifer has something to say about Sam's newfound "I'm good, really! That 180 years in Hell? I'm pretty much over it" state of mind. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] minviendha

- There is a demon. This demon has a box. This box is just barely big enough to fit a large 6'4" man, if you fold him up really small. Basically, I just want Sam stuck in a tiny box. Dean has to get him out and help him work through the muscle cramps and psychological trauma from being in such a tiny space. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] campclavical

- Dean gets out of the hospital just fine but Sam is locked in the MRI room with the leviathan doctor. Said doctor has just eaten so he doesn't want to feed on Sam right away and finds himself in the mood for a little senseless torture. Cue Sam waking up and thinking he is back in hell. Also, would love heroic rescuers, Bobby and Dean and some schmoop later on to put Sammy back together.

- Sam is in a coma for a week and when he wakes up, he has dreamed an entirely different life for himself, starting with the week before Dean came back into his life. He married Jess, reconciled with his father and brother and managed to have that normal life he always dreamed of. He wakes up after Jess tells him she is expecting. Then have Dean put the pieces back together as Sam begins to remember everything that happened in between.

- Levi-Dean doesn't just want to talk. He throws Sam around before revealing the Amy secret. Now he is really angry at Dean but too injured to run. Their differences have to be resolved because the nature of his injuries means he is entirely dependent on Dean for at least the next few weeks. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] captainlon

- November 2, 1985. Sam is two and a half years old. John is passed out drunk and the job follows him home. He wakes up to find Dean unconscious and bloody on the floor and no sign of Sam. You can pick the monster, so long as it involves lots of fear and pain for baby Sammy.

- Any season. Sam finds out he has an aneurysm and Dean overprotects Sam from just about everything because he's afraid that Sam could keel over at any moment if the aneurysm bursts. Gen preferred.

- So, it’s not just Sam. Dean’s a little messed up this season too as we’ve seen, just in a different way. I’d love to see a fic where Dean, with all the best intentions, intentionally keeps Sam off balance or ill just enough that he relies completely on Dean to discern what’s real and to protect him. The whole ‘big brother knows best’ thing, but with Sam now, after everything that’s happened and how unstable he knows he is, willing to trust him and defer to him completely.

Dean thinks it’s what’s best for Sam, that he makes all the decisions for them and keeps Sam dependent on him.

- Gen. Set Season 7. They're on a hunt and facing the baddie/monster/demon, whatever and Sam has an ill-timed break with reality. Probably set off by the baddie. Dean trying to protect his messed-up brother, Sam trying to get it together enough to help. A gloating demon/bad guy who gets what he deserves in the end. Basically, even broken by hell, the Winchesters are still a force to be reckoned with and they can pull through anything to save each other.

- Gen. Sam protected Adam in the Cage. He wouldn’t let them near his brother. Big brothers protect little brothers after all. But madness isn’t just confined to the living. Still in the cage, Sam’s unstable, driven insane by the mind games and physical torture from Michael and Lucifer. Adam knows what Sam’s doing for him and loves his brother for it. He consoles Sam and tries to comfort and calm him in the time they’re both left alone.

- Sam runs into some folks he used to know (as he is wont to do). But he is big with the seizures and hallucinations and also he's pretty sure they're demons sent by Lucifer to spy on him. Bad times are had by all.

- Gen preferred. The Winchesters just don’t seem able to die or stay dead, something perpetually special about them, beyond just being vessels. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] monicawoe

- Sam with either aphasia or some speech impediment. He is otherwise perfectly normal, just can't communicate with any kind of ease. Bonus points if Dean is the only one who can properly understand him. Any season. Gen preferred, but Wincest is fine. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] meh_forget_it

- Gen or Cas/Sam. Cas shows up again, whole and contrite as hell. He wants to be punished, to be killed, but damaged!Sam does the worst thing he can do. He forgives him. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] minviendha

- Gen preferred, but maybe some Team Free Will-ness. Cas is back. Sam is a little (sometimes a lot) insane. And Dean, after being allowed to finally take care of Sammy again, is actually doing alright. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] loveinstars

- S7. Dizzy/disoriented/hallucinating Sam falls in the shower. He is hurt (author's choice how). Cue massive amounts of comfort, Winchester-style. Preferably with lots of cuddling (sexy or not, don't care). Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] authoressnebula

- A teenage Sam has been spending a lot of time by himself in a motel as his father and brother hunt. He is alone more than they are there. Someone else notices that his family isn't there and has been trying to get friendly with Sam. The guy though is creeping him out and Sam starts to put off going 'home' later and later each day in an effort to avoid him. Unbeknownst to Sam, his family has picked up that something is up and make an unexpected trip back, cutting their hunt short and catch the guy cornering Sam outside the room. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] cyndrarae

- Gen, Season 2. Sam's powers started manifesting at an early age. Jon, realizing that his son was different, found some mystical way (in the form of a pill/medicine concoction) to suppress Sam's abilities, all without anyone else knowing. Under the stress of John's death, Sam and Dean both forgot about his "pills" and Sam's powers begin to manifest again, only stronger. The brothers now have to deal with Sam's abilities, John's death, and the secret John left for Dean to bear.

- Sam is tired of Bobby creeping around him. It is obvious that the guy has not forgiven Sam for almost killing him when he didn't have his soul. In an act of attempted penance, Sam goes up on the roof to fix a leak while Dean is in town on a beer run. A phone call sends Bobby on the roof to get Sam, startling the kid who looses his footing and starts to slide off. Bobby manages to grab his wrists to keep him going over. And of course that is when it starts to rain. Sam is dangling off the roof and knows that he's going to pull them both down. He wants Bobby to let go, which the older man refuses to do (what can he say, he actually does love Sam)... Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] authoressnebula

- Future fic, curtain fic, Sam/Dean or gen. Sam and Dean have been retired from hunting and settled for a while now. Sam's Cage aftermath has become not exactly fine, but an accepted part of their lives: he has good patches and bad patches, but he and Dean are used to it and know how to manage. Then Sam is injured in some totally mundane way, and his mobility is permanently compromised. So much of the coping that's worked for him for years has to do with routines that are now disrupted.

Cue Sam spiraling down and having to readjust. Dean who isn't coping too well himself is always welcome.
Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] madebyme_x

- Sam/Dean or gen. Ever since Sam got his soul back, certain words and/or noises become triggers for him to either freak right out or faze out on reality for a while. Dean slowly learns what they are, and goes out of his way to keep them out of conversations or away from anything that could make that noise. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] shangrilada

- Dean is so pre-occupied with hunting and hanging with Cas that he sometimes forgets he has a brother... until Sam gets hurt waiting for Dean... Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] kiscinca

- All four of the Horsemen are still out there. Famine, in particular, has a bone to pick with Sam. Claimed by [livejournal.com profile] killabeez

- Sam swallowed a lot more of that demon blood that was shoved down his throat in 5x3, and after a few days, he starts having withdrawal symptoms, bad enough that Lindsey eventually ignores Sam's protests and calls Dean. Because all that rambling talk about Lucifer is freaking her out.

- Gen, 7.06. Considering past experience, the feds don't buy the claim that the Winchesters are dead. A country-wide manhunt ensues, Sam is found and arrested, but the strain of the Dean and Amy thing and his arrest on multiple murder charges cracks him. Satan vision 24/7, and Dean isn't there to ground him. Cue Sam breaking down on national television in front of the media circus, a lawyer pleading insanity (Sam gibbering in Enochian in the background), etcetera etcetera. And Dean can only watch.
