8.14 plot bunnies!!!
Feb. 15th, 2013 10:38 amIs it just me, or...is this trials of Hercules thing a huge jumping off point for loads of hurt/sick!Sam? I mean, not only are the trials fraught with peril, but when he accomplishes it, his skeleton and circulatory system lights up (this time in his right hand and forearm). That can't be healthy.
We're not on a hiatus, so there's probably no time for it, but right now it's so open-ended, I'd love a comment-fic meme. After all, it's been about four months, right? I needs me some h/c for Sammy. :-)
Oh, and speaking of 8.14, Dean seemed pretty casual about handing Kevin the uppers, and Sam was nervous about it, but not surprised. I sense some sort of history there. Maybe not addiction, 'cause I'm tired of addiction, but there's got to be a h/c story behind it.

Also, I saw in an interview with Jared that Sam is going to be having "tuberculosis type [symptoms], hacking up blood and kind of trying to hide it from his brother." I'm so excited!

Date: 2013-02-15 06:21 pm (UTC)That episode had me cheering and getting all emotional at the same time. We got our brothers back! I can't wait to see what happens to Sammy with the trials, something tells me it's NOT going to be healthy. The best part is all the amazing fic that will be inspired! I can't wait to read all of it!

Date: 2013-02-16 08:31 am (UTC)Dean going at his badass style of man-decor was so cute! I was like, OMG, Dean is nesting! And then he came right out and said that's what he was doing and I about fell out of my chair.
Then, After Sam encouraged Kevin to take better care of himself, I cringed when Dean threw the stimulants at him. That just simply can't go well. And Dean will feel like crap when it goes awry. But then, he's been bad at handling Kevin since forever. Sam, conversely, is always pretty good at relating to him. And this ep actually caused me to briefly wonder about some Sam/Kevin fluff fic. Go fig. My muse is in an odd mood.
As for the brothers together, well, I was very pleased to see them actually talk some stuff out (or in Deans case, rant it out), rather than bury it deeper (again). So yeah, they actually communicated and it was WIN! And they each had incredibly important things they got off their chests.
I personally about flipped when Dean, desperate to spare Sam, threatened to shoot him in the leg if he didn't keep under cover. That is begging for an AU where he does just that and it goes badly.
As for the trials, those have me utterly excited. Even though I kinda saw it coming that Sam would be the chosen one. It seems like since the very first episode, it's been about transformation for both of them. Dean tends to transform emotionally, and Sam seems destined to be the one caught in a loop of supernatural transformations. So I wasn't surprised he was the one who ended up involved in the trials. But I was VERY pleased. There's plenty of potential for feels between the boys over the deleterious effects of the trials. I sincerely hope that they don't have Sam keeping it secret from Dean for too long.
9 more episodes to go this season and I am on the edge of my seat!!! I was also glad to hear that season 9 is confirmed. Whoot!

Date: 2013-02-17 07:50 pm (UTC)But I have a longer fic in progress already. So rather than write fic inspired by the episode, what I will probably do is create from H/C art that I can offer as an prompt for anyone who wants to use the image as inspiration for a fic fill.

Date: 2013-02-18 06:33 pm (UTC)I really love the idea of, like the last task, Dean holding off whatever or whoever is trying to stop 'em, while Sam, in agony, fulfills the task. Like it takes the both of them all out to finish it.
Oh, and you know what? I was thinking about where they would go with another season if they succeeded in closing the door to Hell, 'cause they'd be eliminating one of the major threats, but then I realized something. If they close off the door to Hell, then demons can no longer be exorcised 'cause there'd be no place for them to go. They could probably still be killed, but otherwise, they're stuck, so the demons still on Earth would be a lot harder for hunters to handle.
Also, all those humans that were meant to go to hell when they died? They couldn't go anymore. So, they'd automatically become spirits on Earth, with plenty of time to hang around and become dangerous for hunters. Also, depending on whether vengeful spirits go to Purgatory (like they've become monsters) or hell (where they were intended to go), they might have the same problem with them as with demons. Burning the bones wouldn't move them on.
It makes me wonder if not only Crowley and demons would fight the closure of Hell, but also Death and his reapers.
