Summary: In which Sam thinks Dean has enough to deal with and doesn't want to bother Dean with his own problems. Tag for 11.14, because I needed to see Sam's reaction to what Lucifer did, but the episode wasn't giving us anything.
Sam reacts to Dean's touch like it burns, eyes wide and unfocused as his hands lash out. Under his breath, barely audible, Dean hears Sam whispering no; no, please. Something cold twists in his gut as he retreats, pressing himself against the other side of the stairwell and raising his hands in surrender. “Sam, it's me,” he says. “It's Dean.”
