I know that right in the middle of everyone writing for the prompt challenge, no one will have time or interest to adopt a bunny, but I want to put this out here anyway before I lose it again.

So, Sam does get his soul back in the end. And whoever gave it back to him adds a little bonus: Sam is restored without his memories of hell or what his body did in the meantime, unbroken and unaffected by his time in the cage - until the first time he falls asleep. Then it will all come crashing down on him and most likely leave him damaged beyond repair for the rest of his life. Dean, knowing this, tries to keep him awake as long as possible, but it's been a long time without rest and Sam is so tired...

Great idea! I'm sure someone will give this bunny a good home...or at least find a home for a bunny very similar in appearance to this one.

I think Dean is going to be so miserably disappointed when Sam gets his soul back, no matter how it happens.

At this point, as much as I adore Sam, I think I'd be pissed if he got his soul back and was perfectly fine, if God just restored it or something. I *want* something that will bring the brothers back together, and some h/c is fine with me, but what we may get could be something else entirely.

I'm kind of relying on fanfic to fill in the gaps. With this show I'm sure we'll get a lot more hurt than comfort!

I hope you don't mind, but I couldn't help but think of a possible variation on this lovely prompt. :) What if Sam keeps his soulless habit of not sleeping, even after his soul is restored? During the day Sam is memory-free and undamaged, but once the sun goes down the memories return and he is reduced to a terribly damaged shell of himself. Once morning comes, it's back to normal. I think it would be interesting if the effect fades in and out gradually (like sunrise and sunset).

LOL Don't I wish! It probably pays better and has less stress than my current job! Plus there'd be a lot more shirtless Sam. And hugging. More hugging for sure. :)
