Mod Post! Rules Reminder

This is a mod post. Please make sure your seats and trays are in the upright and locked positions, and keep arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times. Thank you.
We've noticed a few trends among posts recently which we're hoping to nip in the bud.ohsam is run by people who are pretty laid-back and laissez-faire about things, but in return we do ask that you follow the guidelines as they are laid out.
So, maybe a reminder is due, yes?
1- NEW RULE. We didn't think this would be necessary, but as it turns out, it is. Please do not link to locked entries or restricted access pages fromohsam. If your LiveJournal is friends-locked, then either unlock that specific fic entry, OR post the story in its entirety behind a cut here at the community. It is not acceptable to post to a locked entry and provide a link to a "friending post," for instance. It is unreasonable to require of people to friend you/become a member of your site in order to access something you have posted in an otherwise public community.
This rule is not retroactive. If you have already posted something that is locked, I would like to encourage you to consider going back and editing it so that everyone can enjoy your fic, but no one will force you to do so.
2- OLD RULE.ohsam is a community devoted to hurt!Sam and sick!Sam and variants thereof. We are an h/c-focused community, as well. That means Sam should be in the role of hurt/comforted, and should be the focus of the story.
PLEASE think about what you're posting here. If your fic has only a minor role for hurt!Sam, this is not the place for it. It's not that we don't love hurt!Dean or stories about Bobby or stories in which Castiel and Balthazar go on a wacky road trip together and learn to embrace their inner peacocks. We LOVE those stories, we do. This community has a specific focus, and we need your help to keep it content-appropriate.
While we won't outright reject a story with other hurt characters in it (the boys do get themselves beaten around a lot, and often at the same time), the focus should be on Sam. So a story in which, for instance, there's an accident and Sam breaks his arm and spends the whole time looking after his critically-injured brother would belong in a Dean-focused community rather than here. A story in which Dean has an injury or an illness that is told from Sam's POV in which Sam runs himself ragged, endangers his own health and spends the entire time angsting probably has a place here.
Use your best judgment, and if you are in doubt, ping one of the mods. Barring the unforeseen, we will answer promptly.
3- TAGGING. The injury and illness tags are for Sam only. If you have multiple victims in your story (and hey, the more the merrier, right?), please use the tags to describe what's happening to Sam. People use the tags here to search for specific Sam-whumpage, so leading them to Castiel with a paper cut is just asking for disappointment. ;)
Again, use your best judgment, and if you are in doubt, ping one of the mods.

No worries either way. My newest story has Sam angst that is kind of the point of the story but it's not told in an explicit hurt/comforty way.
