ohsamThe comm hosted this little event a couple of years ago, and as November 2 is an auspicious day for our darling Sam, today would be the perfect time to revisit this challenge. Welcome to the Triple Play 2015!
BOOST THE SIGNAL
And here's how we play!
Step One (mandatory): Write a three-part prompt.
1.) Pick a setting
2.) Pick an additional character or characters (Sam is assumed, naturally.)
3.) Pick an H/C scenario, with Sam as the focus. Other characters can share the misery, but Sam should get the brunt of it. That's how we roll. :D
You can make as many prompts as your little heart desires, one set per comment, but it would probably work best if kept simple. For instance: 1.) the Impala 2.) Dean 3.) a hangover, or 1.) autumn 2.) Rowena 3.) a curse.
Step Two (optional): Participants can choose to make visual art: create a drawing, painting, photomanip, or video based around an offered prompt set. All three points must be addressed. The art can be doodled or extravagantly detailed, artist’s choice. And, of course, Sam should be the primary focus of the h/c. Please reply with your art under the prompt you choose, and either put the art beneath a cut or supply a link to it, with appropriate header and warnings! (See "Posting Guidelines" in the left sidebar.) As subject lines are no more, please begin your fills with the word FILLED and a TITLE in BOLD.

If more than one author or artist wants to work with the same prompt, have at it! The ideal goal is to make a Triple Play, where a prompt set gets both art and fic – the art potentially inspiring the fic or the fic inspiring the art. But no matter how it's sliced, we get lots of delicious Sammy h/c! Have all the fun … at Sam’s expense. ;)

"Drink this, it'll keep you warm."
Sam gagged on a capfull of gin while John stepped out of the truck and pumped his shotgun, scanning the woods for whatever had sideswiped them. "Stay here. Don't scream. You'll wake the others."
"The other what?" asked Sam, voice cracking on adolescence.
But John was already walking away, trees glowing in the pale light of the emergency blinkers, leaving Sam with a bottle in his lap and the dead girl they'd promised to bury as per the wishes of a hunter in South Dakota.
Sam twisted around in his seat. The monster had ruined her face, but she'd been of delicate build and her hair spilled across the flatbed truck like gold paint. He wished he'd known her name.
No other cars came. He touched the side of his head and black lightning split the right side of his vision so vividly that he thrashed and accidentally hit the car horn, and by the time he managed to sit straight again he looked in the rearview mirror and the body was gone.
"Dad?"
The trees swayed, though there was not a breath of wind that night. He fumbled in the glove compartment and shined a flashlight at the forest.
As if in response to the light, a faint voice rose up from the trees.
"Sam. Sam. Help me."
His heart hammered. He switched off the light and huddled down in the wheel well.
"Sam. I'm in here. Please help me."
The acoustics were strange, as if the girl were calling from the end of a very large, very long hallway.
"Sam?"
He held his breath, frozen like a deer in the headlights.
"GET IN HERE YOU LITTLE SHIT."
It's the wind, he thought as he wrapped his arms around his skinny chest, the wind can sound like anything out here.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU."
Cold seeped through the truck, ice spreading across the glass like lace, yet the little girl's voice did not advance closer. The pencil-thin shadows of trees loomed over the truck.
"SAM."
He whimpered into his sleeve as branches scraped the truck on all sides, growing through the broken glass and winding leaves around the seats.
"SAM!"
Sam covered his ears and sang to himself, the song Dean always played before bed, waiting for this nightmare to end.
"Sam, the hell are you doing down there?"
Sam opened his eyes. The shadows were gone. John carried a shovel, not a shotgun, and was filthy from grave-digging. Sunrise limned the mountains, the last stars of evening fading in the distance, and when he looked up the forest appeared to have receded several feet from the road.
John strapped him in. "How's your head?"
Sam wrapped his hands around the bottle and took another swig, wiping his mouth on his sleeve.
"Quiet."
