Welcome back to another November, and our annual November 2nd meme!
This time around, we're going to do a good old-fashioned comment meme. Starting right now (no, really, right now) post any prompt in the comments of this post, as long as it is h/c-related and Sam-centric.
As soon as you see a prompt you like, fill it! Write a fic, make some art, use your imagination. Post a reply to the original prompt comment with your work or, if it's a lengthy fic or art, a link to the work in your journal or elsewhere.
The rules:
-Post one prompt per comment, please. This makes it easier to track, and easier to tell which fills go with which prompts.
-Post as many prompts as you'd like! The more, the merrier.
-Same goes for fills. You're welcome to fill as many prompts as you want to, and multiple people can absolutely fill the same prompt. We love to see different takes on the same concept.
-Like we said, h/c and Sam-centric.

I wanna see Sam, 12, running into a burning building to save people. Why not add in some protective Dean and John freaking out that his youngest has run straight into a burning building?

Ending up in tears because he can't figure out how to put his watch on his remaining wrist. Forgetting he's only got one arm and trying to carry a lot of stuff and then realizing he's got no way to open a door. Just all of the frustration that comes with having to re-learn how to do a lot of things, and Dean helping him through it.

lennellePrompt: Sam has a kind of supernatural synesthesia. Which might be great when he's hunting, because he can recognize monsters by the color or sound or whatever that they give off. It's less good when he's faced with beings like Lucifer and other big bads, whose power creates an overwhelming sensory experience.

Prompt: Sam contracts mono early at Stanford and essentially loses the semester, and then his scholarship. With nowhere to go and no way to pay, he attempts suicide. The school contacts Bobby, who tracks down John and Dean. Dean arrives in California to save the day. Gen please. :)

Date: 2017-11-05 09:15 am (UTC)“Sam!” He’s bouncy, bored, still very much a child, and Sam tunes him out, breathes deep and tells himself that Jack is just a kid. “Sam, I’m bored! Pay attention to me!”
And suddenly it’s not Jack’s voice in his head but Lucifer’s, cajoling him, pretending to be sweet, playful, funny, a mask that hides the depths of his depravity, his sadistic lust and his spiteful evil, and Sam is on his feet before it even registers that he’s moved at all.
“Shut up! Just shut the fuck up! Leave me alone, you sadistic fuck!” He’s shaking, so hard he feels like his bones are going to break apart, collapse into a heap at his feet (Lucifer clucking his tongue, shaking his head, “you’re not keeping it together Sam” and he’s duct tape and safety pins, and sometimes one slips loose, and he has to patch it up before everything falls apart), and he’s yelling about torture and spewing hatred and anger and his brother’s voice cuts through from somewhere, and suddenly everything is horribly silent, and there is a Bunker around him (not a Cage) and Jack is crying, eyes wide.
“Jack,” Sam breathes, voice barely a whisper, “I’m sorry.”
Dean takes his arm, walks him to his room like he’s four again, and Sam cries like he is, face buried shamefully in soft flannel, big brother’s arms a fortress from the fear and the pain that is still too raw, will always be too raw, always too real.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Sam runs a spoon through chicken soup – Dean’s default of tomato and rice has been rejected since Sam stopped drinking demon blood, the aversion only getting worse after the Wall broke – making a point of not looking at his brother.
“It’s not the kid’s fault.”
“It’s not yours either, Sammy,” Dean’s voice is soft, tender, the way it only ever is when Sam is this broken, when the defences come down for both of them. “He’s a good kid, but Lucifer is still his father.”
Sam flinches at the name, relaxes a little as Dean runs his thumb over the back of Sam’s neck.
“I like the kid,” Sam says softly (he loves the kid, so fucking much, but he can’t say that in front of Dean), “and I want to save him. But sometimes I can hardly look at him. I’m sorry. I don’t want you to punish him for this.”
Dean sighs. “I need to know you have a handle on this, Sam. I don’t want to kick the kid out – hell, that’s practically handing him over to demonic dickwads – but I’m not going to let this screw you up any more. So you’ve gotta tell me, man – can you do this?”
Sam thinks of the overgrown boy who thinks he killed his mother, who feels something evil inside of him, who has a destiny that scares him, who was created as Lucifer’s plaything.
Sam isn’t sure if he’s thinking of himself or Jack.
“Yeah,” he says finally, his voice steady, “I can do this.”

Date: 2017-11-05 02:36 pm (UTC)The boys have so much PTSD and it bothers me that the show just glosses over it. Show me Sam freaking out over Jack reminding him of Lucifer. Show me the fresh from Purgatory Dean pulling a weapon on some civilian who made a sudden noise. Show me how it affects the boys when they have to work with a victim who has been through some of the same traumas they have.
Perfect story is perfect with the tie ins to the show ("I'm bored!" Safety pins and duct tape.) and the no more tomato soup was a nice touch.
