Following the results of the poll we took last month (don't make it easy on us or anything, guys, haha!), we've decided to hold a comment fic meme once every three months. This gives everyone time to write and prompt to their heart's content, and allows us mods to keep up with y'all. And we're starting right now!

Your prompts may involve sick!Sam, hurt!Sam, angsty!Sam, basically anything that results in Sam being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort. (No rules against whumping other characters as well, of course, but you have to whump Sam first. ;) )
→ In your prompt, please state your desired characters or pairings. All genres/pairings welcome, but no real-person (RPF) prompts.

Basically, Adam really really doesn't want to care and holds onto his resentment for dear life, but Sam is all psychotic and hopeless so it's kind of hard. Cue grudging compassion and Adam dragging Sam around the country, hitchhiking with truckers and stuff while trying to keep Sam's lunacy on the down-low, in search of anyone else who wants to take him, anyone at all. When he finally gets his chance to be rid of Sam for good and for keeps, he barely has one foot out the door before he notices Dean/Bobby/the psychiatric nurse/whoever trying to calm Sam down and doing it all wrong. Breaking up is so hard to do.

What torments Sam most about his memories of the Cage, after he gets a tenuous grip on the flashbacks and fear, is how he broke there: in the worst way a Winchester could possibly break. He remembers wishing Dean was there instead of him. Dean assumes that Sam is miserable and ashamed because of something done to him, instead of anything he'd done, and Sam is inconsolable. Does Dean ever figure it out? Can Sam ever move on?

As many cellars, abandoned houses, rotting warehouses, and other manky spaces as these guys have run through, I figure their chances of getting tagged have to be pretty high. Sam has a run-in with Lactodectrus mactrans, which in turn leads to all the fun and joy of latrodectism. Dean's there to do the motel rool triage (and the big brother thing) when the agonizing full-body cramps set in, of course. Mega-super bonus points and my eternal love for some kind of background plot, especially if it gives Sam occasion to be awesome, but mainly, I'd just love to see him in agony from Black Widow venom.

After being in the Cage, Sam can't even really tell when he's been hurt, no matter how bad it is. He'll get hurt in a hunt and not know till Dean freaks and tells him he's bleeding. He'll wander off barefoot, lost in his head, and Dean will wake up and run after him. His feet will be all cut up and bloody and Dean's panicking that he doesn't know what's wrong with his brother and doesn't know how to help him. Gen preferred.

Sam is a bit shell-shocked after a hunt (maybe an innocent person dies? Someone he knew/got to know?) and has blood on his hands, arms, and face. Thus, Dean has to gently remove his clothes, get him into the shower, get in after him, and bathe him. Sam, still very much out of it, is highly compliant. Afterwards, Dean gets him dressed and into bed. Maybe he cuddles with him, and/or tries to coax him out of his stupor.

One of those no good, pain in the ass, nothing going right, suck-the-life-from-your-bones days. Grumbling but protective Dean would be awesome.

When Sam comes back from hell, he's off in a lot of ways, but the most frustrating new dilemma he faces is an extremely touchy stomach. There is very little that Sam can handle anymore. Dean, scared that Sam is going to waste away if they don't do something, takes matters into his own hands. He refuses to let his brother live on pedialyte and the occasional piece of dry toast, and experiments with his limited culinary skills, determined to find a few dishes -- something, anything -- that his brother can stomach.

De-aged Dean, sort of. Mental regressed Dean in grown up Deans body trying to adjust. He is a child trapped in a mans body and not everyone is very understanding of that Sam cares for him and protects him from cruelty.
It can be caused by injury or curse but I would like it to be permanent.
You get extra bonus points if you can make it a curtain fic with the two of thmem retiring so Sam can do an even better job of taking care of his brother.

Freaked out!Sam

I've been saying all over the place that I really, really want something dealing with the enormous gap in Sam's Hell experience versus Dean's--namely, that Dean was a torturer, Sam was only being tortured.

Sam has seen Dean torturing demons. I'd really, really like to see something exploring a visceral response to this. On some level, maybe even so deep he's not aware of it, post-6.22!Sam is *freaking out* about Dean. He's scared of him, having physical/emotional reactions that he doesn't even necessarily understand, whenever his brother is around, when he hears his voice, when he sees him with a weapon...all of it. His whole reality, his safe place, is cracked right down to its foundations. Good luck trying to fix that one, Dean...

The girls in a sorority house are winding up dead- a sorority house that has always been connected to witchcraft. While the current sorority-coven-thing is peaceful and passive, it wasn't always that way, and now a vengeful spirit from a long-ago spell-gone-awry is determined not to rest until every last one of the current witches is dead.
Cue Winchesters investigating, and one sorority-witch with a twisted sense of humor who thinks Dean's a chauvinist and decides to turn both boys into girls temporarily, see how they like it. The problem? Sam's visions. The worse the impending catastrophe, the worse the vision. And the physical effects of a vision that would pack a punch on a guy who's 6'4" are much more potent on a smaller body full of way different (female) hormones... Cue migraines!visions!girl!Sam, awesome!girl!Dean, and maybe some awesome!guilty!witches.

I would love, love, love if something involving that is why Sam is afraid of clowns, something horrible and horrific (because horror is love) that happened when he was little, little enough that Dean was left at the hotel and John came to the rescue, because there is not enough Sam and John fics out there.

Though really, I am easy to please, I will also be very please with older Sam and Dean dealing with this, too. Or Lucifer doing some clown torture, that works as well. :D

I was actually working on this myself, but I just can't get anything going beyond the roughest of outlines. I hope someone else'll have better luck:

-Dean dies in "Faith".
-John stayed YED!possessed until AHBL 2 when Sam shoots him with the Colt.
-Sam killed in Cold Oak, but Bobby sells soul to bring him back. (Needs Sam to stop YED.)
-Bobby goes to Hell, breaks first seal.
-Castiel takes role of prepping Sam for killing Lilith (no Ruby).
-Sam kills Lilith and starts Apocalypse.
-Dean brought back to life by angels.
-Dean shocked by new!Sam (how much he's changed in all aspects). Sam shocked by old!Dean (no longer used to their old perspective on life and hunting).
-Angels ask Dean's consent to be Michael!vessel.

Sam's visions are a major weakness/guilty pleasure of mine, so I'm loving these prompts. Time to throw my hat into this ring!

Sam has a vision at a really, really bad time (like driving at high speed or on dangerous road conditions, climbing on something high or treacherous, hunting something that could take advantage of his distraction, etc.) and gets himself seriously hurt as a result. Bonus guilty!Sam and perhaps minor-injury!Dean is welcome!

Post 6.22. Sam sees Sarah Blake again for the first time in years (OR he meets a woman he thinks he could totally hit it off with if circumstances were different), but is frustrated to find that he's too dysfunctional since the Great Wall of Sam came down to rekindle (or kindle) a relationship. Sarah (or said woman) is offput, maybe frightened, by his instability or tenuous hold on reality, and Sam wonders if his chances of ever having a romantic relationship again are permanently shot. Up to you if Sarah (or OFC) gets over herself and decides to give it another try. Brownie points for awesome!Dean, but gen please!

Sam slumped down in the passenger seat of the Impala, his hoodie pulled over his head, and pouted.

"It's not that bad," Dean said while suppressing his laughter. Oh, it was bad. It was really bad. The kid had the lumpiest skull Dean had ever seen. He blamed it on all the studying.

"Shut up," Sam grumbled. Who knew that little demon children had demon head lice that just wouldn't go away? Dean and his short hair, of course, was unaffected. Life was not fair.

"I got it," Dean said brightly, "we'll take you to the bars and tell people that you're a cancer patient with only a few days left to live. That'll get you laid, even with that lumpy noggin of yours."

"Dude," Sam looked at his brother in horror and a bit of disgust, "that's wrong. Even for you."

"What?" Dean shrugged. It seemed like it good plan, but Sam just continued to sulk. They drove for 30 more miles before Dean pulled into a parking spot in front of a store. "Come on, Sammy."

"I don't want to," Sam said, his eyes closed and refusing to look at anything. He was afraid he'd catch his lumpy headed reflection in some shiny surface. He hated his life.

"Alright, fine," Dean said and got out of the car. "Stay here, I'll be right back."

20 minutes later, Dean came out of the store holding a bag. He pulled the hoodie from Sam's head with much protest and took out the wig he had just bought. Dean adjusted and then fastened the wig firmly to Sam's head with a grin.

"I look like Ziggy Stardust," Sam said in a choked whine when he finally pushed Dean to the side in order to get a look at himself in the mirror.

"Cool, huh?" Dean asked excitedly.

"I hate you," Sam stated, still staring at himself.

"Well I think you look good."

"Shut up."

"Bitch."

"Jerk."

"Pansy."

Sam huffed and crossed his arms over his chest. He refused to play this game. He was not 12 anymore. He refused. "What hunt are we headed to again?" he asked instead.

And then his friends are all, "OMG! It's Psycho Sam who was a closet satanist and was wanted by the FBI!"

And Sam is very conspicuously injured, but he and Dean can't stop to patch him up because the eldritch creature is still trying to rip their throats out.

And Sam's feelings are hurt because his old friends are scared of him now.

Any season.

Sam has the mother of all chest colds, a raging headache, draining fever, wracking chills. By all rights he should be in bed, but people are dying and bones need to be burned and Dean can't do it alone. So here they are, in the middle of a forest in the pouring rain, trying to light a stupid match because of course the lighter fluids all gone...you get the idea, right? One of those no good, pain in the ass, nothing going right, suck-the-life-from-your-bones days. Grumbling but protective Dean would be awesome.

Season 2: The boys are forced to crash at the Roadhouse for a time. Sam is hurt/sick/whatever and in bad shape, and Ellen decides the poor boy needs some serious mothering. (I will love you forever if Sam's arm is still in a cast too.)

Teen-chesters on a hunt with John. Sam ignores a direct order from John because he thinks John's wrong about something. Turns out John wasn't wrong, and because Sam wouldn't listen, Sam gets himself badly hurt and possibly endangers John and/or Dean. Afterwards, Sam's injured, embarrassed, and guilty, John's torn between furious and worried, and Dean, who isn't sure what he should be thinking or feeling about any of it, is stuck as the mediator. Awesome!Dean and Awesome!John are certainly welcome.

Post-wall: It’s not that Sam is hallucinating so much as he’s now capable of seeing into other dimensions. Which, of course, to the untrained eye, comes off as Sam hallucinating.

Dean, unfortunately, is an untrained eye, and the inter-dimensional being who might have formerly conveniently let Dean in on the secret is currently off playing God somewhere.

So, Dean is going to go with the “Sam hallucinates ALL THE TIME” theory and acts accordingly.

Season 6, concussion

During a hunt Sam get's hit in the head hard enough it knocks some screws loose to where he thinks he's a 5 year old again. And represses all the bad memories he's had during season 6 and before. Dean takes him to a hospital but the doctor's say there isn't anything they can do. Sam has to regain his memories for himself. Cue semi-frustrated/understand Dean and joyous, adorable 5 year old Sam stuck in a man's body.

Oh my, this could go so many ways.
There's the the pathos of Sammy not recognizing himself in the mirror, or cracky h/c fun a la "Big". I've got visions of poor Sammy constantly whacking his funny bone and head because he's not used to being Gargantua. It would be like having a Great Dane who thinks he's a lapdog!

Sam lifts a car.

Maybe it's a tiny Geo Metro, and he just lifts one end a couple inches off the ground (some poor kid with better puppy eyes than him got parked in between two other cars and can't get out). Or maybe it's one of Bobby's wrecked sedans and Sam manages to clean it to his knees (it fell on Dean, and Sam has a huge adrenaline rush).

Of course, Sam throws his back out doing it.

Dean, now stuck helping Sam sit up, lie down, hobble to the bathroom, and drink from a straw, is tickled pink that his little brother can lift cars, and keeps cracking Terminator jokes and maybe forces him to watch Pumping Iron on the laptop while Sam can't move.

Season 7 Sam is damaged and needs to be on some pretty hardcore psych meds. They mess with his head and make him dopey. Dean deals with what he fears is a new normal for Sammy. (I've also read about some psyc meds that increase thoughts of suicide...)

Can be wincest or gen. For some supernatural reason (curse?) Sam suddenly knows when people are lying. He doesn't know how or why and can't read peoples' minds, but whenever someone says anything, he knows if it's true or a lie. Dean says something about having forgiven him for everything, or not blaming Sam for something and Sam is devastated because he can tell it's a lie. Turns out, though, that it's just a misunderstanding....maybe Dean says he only blames RoboSam or Lucifer for something and it's a lie so Sam assumes that means Dean blames him, but in reality it pinged as a lie because Dean blames himself. IDK. I'm starting to confuse myself. LOL.

One of the reasons Sam resented the hunting lifestyle so much was because he was raped/sexually abused when John and Dean went on a hunt and left him alone (I'd think it would be highly dangerous for a young boy to stay at a seedy motel or shady apartment complex alone)...up to author if it was a one time occurrence or if it went on for a while. Sam never told because the reason John left him behind in the first place was that he wasn't a strong enough hunter yet to accompany him and Dean on the more dangerous hunts. He was scared if he told his dad he couldn't even fend off a human monster, John and Dean would see he was even weaker than they thought and he'd 1.) Be left alone more and 2.) They'd see him as too weak to be a real 'Winchester' and he'd feel even more left out of the John/Dean bond that he already did.

I want to see Dean finding out, years after the fact.
